im about to go get my root canal done..anyone got them before and how bad is the pain

It didn't hurt when I got mine done. Its really the sound that makes it weird. It feels like a cold burst of water in your tooth.

Its not the most comfortable procedure.  Once you figure out how to breathe comforably, its not bad at all.  Theres really no pain involved.  Its actually a relief from pain.  They kill the nerve so there isnt pain after the procedure.

I had no pain at all.  My procedure only lasted about 45 minutes.

the procedure just sucks because you got your mouth open for an hour straight and the dentist is resting his damn forearm on your jaw

If you have a good dentist, that is not cheap with the lidocaine. You will be good. I found getting fitted for a crown more painful than the actually root canal.
