Russell Westbrook

IMO, it's more about poor coaching and personal than anything. Perkins isn't a threat and Thabo and Ibaka (while improving) are still limited offensively...so you're only really worried about KD and Westbrook. I know OKC's game plan is to run KD off lots of screens, and if that doesn't work then Russell kinda has to go for his.

I guess guys like Nash and CP3 still have the natural instinct to create for their teammates while Westbrook goes to his strength which is to create for himself.

I think the heat he took in the grizz series was severely overblown. Durant simply couldn't get open on a lot of those possessions. TA's & battier's physicality bothered him. They did an excellent job of denying him the rock. And I had no issue with scottie benching him the whole 4th. Without that decision, they could've been down 0-2 against an excellent road team.

people have to realize, hes a SG first, not a PG, hes making the transisition to PG, it isnt even, hell even true PGs cant play PG correctly when they come into the league.

give the kid some slack, hes still learning and still young in this league, within the next 2 or 3 years hell be a top 3 PG

The trade talk needs to chill, unless you're trading for an All-NBA point guard, there's no reason to think about it.

He's still learning the position, so he's going to be frustrated when he can't do the things the coaches demand... not to mention his tendency to go into hero mode. It's just growing pains, I'd be shocked if anything drastic develops.. like Westbrook demanding a trade or not wanting to extend with OKC.

Agreed.  Also agree with what Crooks said.

That said, I think the kid gets way too much flak for his play and the "rift" between him and KD.  There's no way you trade him and I think that talk needs to get killed.

I don't know how Westbrook goes about showing others that he has "accepted" the #2 role...on average for the regular season he still took about 3 fewer shots per game than KD (although in the playoffs they're almost even now). Probably is a much better thing to say that he plays like the number option 1 occasionally, which is what number 2 guys do. 
As far as last night, I don't like to play the "what if" game because you can also argue "what if" Westbrook got benched for a few minutes, got the message then came back in and helped close the game out.
