Trades involving 2 star caliber players, a 5 and a 1, are usually high hisk for both teams unless all the cards are set correctly.
For OKC, they have people that can be play makers, Harden and Maynor. With the help of Bynum they would get scoring from the post more, seeing as the have 2 defensive minded big men in Perkins and Ibaka.
For LA, you give up Bynum's ability to post up and create his own shot for a great score first point guard, who can play defense against the best PG's of the league, which is what the Lakers biggest weakness are.
Trade works out for both teams in theory, but the thing none of us really know about since we're on the outside looking in is team chemistry.
People seem to forget that the Lakers were on the way to a top 3 seed in the Western Conference before the Pau Gasol trade because of Bynum's play, he's been with the Lakers since he was 17, and many fans like me have him as their favorite Laker, or one of them at least.
I don't think OKC would do the trade because they don't want to mess with their core that much, Perkins is still a young player as well.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER teams don't do trades with other CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER teams in the same conference much because it hinders their opportunities at a title.
