I'm pretty sure outside of KD, all starters sat the 4th. Not 100% though.

I think RW continues to improve at learning the PG position and this doesn't become Steph/KG all over again. This situation has blown up way too much and these clowns all over TV talking about it ain't helping it.

Exactly. I feel half these people criticizing Russ didn't watch the Thunder until the playoffs. There's little difference between KD taking 20 shots and Russ taking 17, but I didn't hear any gripes during the regular season. Playoffs: Russ--19.5, KD--20. Are those extra 2.5 shots a game (which are being taken away from the role players, not KD) such a HUGE difference? That Thunder team really lacks offensive weapons. Perk/Collison/Ibaka/Sefolosha are basically zeros on the offensive end, and that's 4/8 main rotation guys.

I also find it funny that Westbrook gets criticized for doing the exact same things Rose does (poor shot selection, wild drives to the hoop, etc.) when they are probably the two most comparable players in the L. The idea that Rose "has" to play like that and Russ doesn't is putting way too overlooking the Thunder's lack of offensive weapons (outside of KD/Russ), and undervaluing the talent around Rose. Either way, even if you put Rose on the Thunder, do you guys really see him becoming Chris Paul and taking 13 shots a game? Both those guys have no clue how to be true pg's, need the ball in their hands, and are really shooting guards playing the point. Asking one (Westbrook) to become a completely different player (when it's most likely NOT best for the team), while praising the same qualities in the other is simply contradictory. It's gotten to the point that whenever Russ shoots more than KD, it's automatically the source of all of the Thunder's problems.

Honestly, I'd rather see Russ (and Rose) shoot less and become more true point guards. But this sudden criticism of Russ is completely off base when he's been playing the same way all year.

Harden  21
Ibaka  21

And then they have 2 kid centers waiting in the wings both 22 in Aldrich and Mullens


And yet, I can't think of a team that gets questioned in a conference finals more than these guys. 

  Every one of these guys is locked up for next year too.  I mean, even if Dallas beats them in this series, they will have won a couple series, giving these guys their first taste, they've now won road games at Denver, at Memphis, and at Dallas, and they are barely old enough to celebrate this success in a bar.  And yet, everybody wants to trade their young talented guard before they even get started. 

Marbury and KG never got anywhere even close to this.  I get the whole "similar" angle people are going for, but it really isn't. 

Regardless of what happens in this series, win or lose, Russ is learning from it.  And on top of that, so is KD.  So is the head coach.  They all are.  No matter how the next week/month plays out, they will have TONS of angles to look at, learn from and grow.  If this same issue is still around say next year, and it costs them some games or a series, then they can look at needing to make a change to capitalize on the window they have created.  But if they simply continue to work hard and progress not just physically but maturity and experience wise as well, then all of this is a waste of time.  I swear, the way people talkin, the Thunder lost last night. 

  They didn't, those !+%!#%%+%#$@+ won ya'll.  And now they goin home for a couple.  Most young players play much better at home and Russ is probably no different.  He made a mistake, he was frustrated, the coach went with a gut feeling, and got the W.  End of story.  If Russ is who he wants to be and should be, then he will see this as a learning oppurtunity and move on.  Play the game of his life in game 3 and nobody will say a damn thing anymore. 

There is probably 26-27 other franchises that would BEG to have these "problems" right now.  BEG.

This reminds me of a young 20-something Kobe chucking shots out of confidence that SOON he WILL be a number one option caliber player. Sure, KD is the man in OKC. But Westbrook has so much talent and potential that it could be he's just struggling to cocoon into what he will eventually be.

All I think Russ needs is one season in the future where KD gets injured the majority of the season. Then he'll either tank the team or struggle to success and he'll realize that he needs KD more than he ever thought.
