Well I was thinking about the transitioning period. I figured, the RT or SRT model of the redesigned Charger is my main goal. Spring of 2012 God willing. So I figured, If I stay down in the high single thousands to mid teen thousands then I can pay that car off and move on to the RT/SRT.

I really don't know how I want to go about this right now. I just need something to hold me over but I want something that's nice with decent power that wont tie me up financially.

Anybody got some ideas to throw out there?

I was also thinking of going for a Impala or new generation Malibu.

Keep this up though. Everyone needs a good forum punching bag. If we're really going by a point you brought up earlier, which is being subjective, than you really need to follow your own words. You're dismissing sales numbers which concretely show you that people prefer the M3. No one I know who owns an S5/M3/etc thought once about buying an American muscle car.

well numbers don't lie. I'm not talking about the dudes who buy cars just to tune and modify what's underneath the hood. I'm talking about the average regular consumer. The everyday driver. Domestics have the top of the line when it comes to muscle cars(base models don't count) but even those aren't mass produced like Taurus, Camry's Accords, Malibus, etc. Those cars are what brings in the most revenue. And the non muscle cars in the domestic brand is what's killing them. These muscle cars aren't cheap to manufacture. I don't even think that if every top model muscle car sells off the assembly line would save their companies. Cuz frankly, numbers don't lie and imports have better overall cars. 
 
Now I know you won't agree and you'll probably use Toyota's gas pedals as an excuse, and I'll come back with the Ford Explorer exploding Firestone tires and exploding gas tanks in the Pintos. And how can we not forgot the failed 4 cylinder engines on the old Chevy Vega's in the 70s

I drove 6 hours one way to pick mine up last year once I was able to locate a dealership with one.
