****The Everything LaVar Ball Thread****

I was all in originally, now I just hope Zo/Melo can be as great as they wanna be. :smh:

You're probably right. I'm going to be curious to see how he fares against bigger and better competition. Also, teams may be a bit more intrigued if Lavar is truly taking a backseat or is phased out completely.

It'll be interesting if he goes the G-League route...but that's my bet (right now). It's built for scoring guards right now...but those ARE grown *** men who are fringe NBA players

It will be tough for him...but it's supposed to be.

Though nowhere near on Marv Marinovich's level, this amount of incompetence from Lavar Ball isn't surprising.

Gelo, whatever...but LaMelo/Lonzo are the major victims here. Lonzo for his finances, and LaMelo for having his amateur status pretty much crushed (up hill battle to get to the league.) Lavar RUINED his boys in the short term.

yall are right...30 for 30 in the works.

*One thing I was thinking of...with as much TV time and exposure Lavar/BBB was getting, why weren't any of LaMelo's Spire games televised on the big network?

It's not "Gelo, whatever" though. He had a full ride scholarship to UCLA and his dad snatched that opportunity from him. Gelo isn't an NBA (or even G-league) level talent currently but who knows what would have happened after 3 or 4 years of college. That doesn't even take into account Gelo's education.

Gelo was just along for the ride. He screwed up his own **** with the sunglasses ordeal in China. Good chance he's still at UCLA w/o that hiccup.

That being said, he's a mid to low-D1 prospect at best. Would have never been at UCLA if it wasn't for Lonzo/Lamelo. Modern day romeo/derozan deal :lol

Varnell right on the money with Melo. He's right back to being at the top of his class and for most of the season he was a top 10 prospect in his class on almost all scouting services. Very interested in seeing where he takes things, especially w/lavar not in the picture.

EYE don't think the G-League is an option for Melo. Lonzo isn't an advocate, and he pushed Gelo to go overseas instead of the G-League.

I think Melo either goes overseas for a year or hires elite level training, branding, and agent to prepare for the draft.

sheep need people to follow

lol Lavar was really some of yalls leader.

I think there was a strong albeit small contingent that were pulling for Lavar and his “we’re building our own thing” story.

Unfortunately there’s an even louder and bigger contingent of people who hated him (without knowing him at all) who are gleefully celebrating an unfortunate turn of events for the ball family.

I think those people are the “sheep” you speak of.

Or are they clowns?

What kind of person does one have to be to cheer other’s misfortune?

And what kind of person gleefully cherry picks a situation like this and belittles a man whose ultimate goal was to better his family?

Lavar’s ham-fisted approach aside, he was always trying to do right by his kids.

Parents make mistakes.

Y’all are real life weird if you find any joy in this situation.

[this isn’t shots fired at you SorianoTron... your comment prompted me to say that though]

I’ve seen a few people say some version of this today...

Where are people getting the idea that Lavar is not in the picture as far as Melo is concerned?

Alan is out. Not Lavar. Or did I miss something?

Out of the picture as far as not pushing his son to do things for the benefit of Lavar and the BBB with BBB not existing anymore

Between travel, advertising, facilities fees, paying (or not paying) the players, minimal recoup on ticket sales...man.

We’ll probably never hear a number but my guess would be the amount spent on the short lived JBA could have easily been covered by a Nike endorsement or some little local business sponsorship deals Zo was advised to pass on.

Zo is about to be the spokesman for every car Dealership in Chino.

Y’all are about to be sick of this man lol!

Didn't Gelo turn down an offer from a team out in London? Curious if the fall of bbb makes him a little more aware that he needs to look out for himself in figuring out his next move.

Melo gonna be mentally okay?
Bruh still young and his brain is a sponge.

The tv show dull done?

Alan had a baddie last ep

But the media themselves are the ones that enabled him :lol ESPN loved trotting him out there to spike their ratings. Even the WWE got in on it :rollin

Lavar had a good idea and a great end goal his execution and they way he moved was just careless and too over the top. He loved the cameras and trollin too much. Somebody else will come along and learn from these mistakes and do it successful. That's how it always is, the man that comes up with the idea catches the heat, takes bumps and bruises to make it a little easier for the next man.

Barkley calling Lavar a big mouth jackass is a bit ironic.

That said, I am sad to see this fall apart as it has done.
