Is there any cushioning in the forefoot on the R4?

Never had the OG pair but I could see myself buying these once they are discounted.

langfor5 The informational sticker on the OG pairs and some of the mid-00 retros claim that there was a standard Air unit at the forefoot but that was a decade ago and Nike's been gutting shoes hard.

Wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the Air unit and running a full Phylon set up now.

vood99 thank you for posting that. I forgot, and miss that Nike use to put specs about the shoe on the inside of the boxes.

Using the visual presented that looks like a fairly large Air-sole unit and like you accurately pointed out it should shock none of us if that Air-sole is emitted from this upcoming release.

Just that nobody knows about them, had a little publicity last month but that's it. Wonder if they will eventually do a broader release but everything that I've seen says that's not going to happen

Pair from DSM came in yesterday. No complaints on quality, or execution. Lots of 3M hits throughout, and moderately comfortable. Cannot distunguish if there is anything in the forefoot for cushioning, but the insole is pretty padded, and adds to the comfort. Sizing seems a little narrow. Normally wear between a size 14/15, and grabbed these in a 15. Fit is really good, and a 14 would have been way too tight. Size examples for reference:
Air Max 1 & 97 - sz 15
Jordan 1 & 3 - sz 15
Vans - sz 14
Jordan 5 & 12 - sz 14

Thought the same thing too my G but then realized he's wearing size 15. Nike doesn't scale the Shox to match the overall shoe size so that's why they look tiny.
