The New York Post reported early Sunday that D'Antoni wants the Knicks to cut ties with the controversial point guard.

"He thinks he's a superstar. I think he's a very good player. If he wants to be traded, we'll try to accommodatehim," Nelson told ESPN.com on Saturday night.

Harrington publicized his trade request before the season opener, and the Warriors have been fielding inquiries from numerous teamsever since.

"I'm just going to keep doing what I can do to be the best player I can be," Harrington said after hearing Nelson'slatest comments. "If something happens, it happens. I'm prepared either way."

Nets'forward Sean Williams, who is currently in the doghouse in New Jersey, has confirmed to the New York Post that he asked team President Rod Thorn not to pick uphis third year option so he could become a free agent quicker.

Williams, though, said the decision not to pick up his option had nothing to do with wanting to leave New Jersey, but rather to getonto his next contract quicker.

"I told Rod I didn't want him to pick up my option," said Williams. "It had nothing to do with me not wanting to behere as part of this team because I love this team."

"It's part of the business. I want to get to my second deal as fast as possible."

. I wonderwhat it would take to get him shipped out as well. The day Don Nelson is done, I will be happy.

Which team is going to tey and sign Marbury though?
I don't think any team takes the risk, even though he is still a good talent.
I could see him taking the Childress route.

As far as Harrington, send him to Dallas. No but really, if you can't put up amazing numbers in Nellie's system, can you really be that good?

Artest's tech was pure bs. But his rep. proceeds him, nothing you can really do about it.

Not too much basketball today.
Bucks vs. Knicks
T'Wolves @ Kevin durant's team.

The Pacers are among the teams, sayeth NBA front-office sources, with interest in trading for Golden State's Al Harrington, who went public this week with a request to be traded that he's been voicing privately to the Warriors for about eight months, according to one informed estimate.
Sources say, however, that Harrington is rooting for a different destination, less than thrilled with the idea of a third stint in Indiana. I'm told that the Warriors, furthermore, are highly unlikely to consider taking on Jamaal Tinsley, no matter how much they need a veteran point guard after losing Baron Davis in free agency.

Although there's suddenly considerable chatter around the league about Harrington -- who can play multiple positions, shoot with range and carries a contract with only this season and next season to go at a sum of $19.2 million -- it doesn't appear that Golden State is in any rush to part with him. Yet.

Our own Chris Sheridan reported earlier this week that New York is seriously interested as well. That shouldn't be too surprising given that Harrington, as another team executive notes, certainly looks like "Mike's kind of power forward," referring to new Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni. The Warriors, though, are understandably uninterested in the players New York wants to peddle: Eddy Curry and, of course, Stephon Marbury.

It's a terrible name.
It sounds like a NBA D-league team

Didn't want to start a seperate thread on this, so:

NBA sources said the Nuggets have inquired about obtaining Denver native Chauncey Billups from the Pistons for Allen Iverson. Because of Iverson's lucrative contract ($20.8 million) it would take more than Billups ($11 million), though . . .

Paul has a new avy though, I can't see it yet.
You have to click his profile.

And there is no way AI is going to be a Nugget next year, he's probably gone by the deadline.
Detroit would make sense for both teams IMO.
Carmelo can finally dominate the ball and grow into a true superstar with Billups as a true sidekick.
I think Billups grew up in Denver too.

Who else would Detroit throw in though?

The thing if this deal goes through is that going into next summer, the Pistons would have freed $34 million (Sheed and Iverson)...Makes them a player in thefree agent market for '09 or '10.

The Cavs were interested in Harrington this past summer, I wonder if they're amongst the teams interested. The AI-Billups development will be interestingto watch too, but I can't say I see AI succeeding with the Pistons.

Both the Bucks and the Knicks had a lot of really easy shots they couldn't put down, it was starting to get sad.

I been saying Curry/whoever for Al harrington .. would be good for both teams

I like this Iverson trade to Detroit. Finally gives them someone who can score on their own, and frees up time for Stuckey. Also Carmelo will grow and becomethe feature player for the Nuggets, with the help of Billups. Good trade.

Co sign PGA, I like this deal for both teams.
Melo is about to get his chance to shine.

And how the hell would getting Curry be good for the Warriors?

Denver should have demanded Amir Johnson because it looks like Antonio McDyess won't report.

I don't think Detroit would have done it if they had to give up Amir.
I'm pretty sure Denver knew McDyess wasn't going to report.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I have the feeling McDyess doesn't like the Denver organization.
I mean, they did trade him away, twice.

Yeah that's true but that's stupid on Denver's part. They at least could have gotten a first round pick if they knew McDyesswasn't going to report to the team.

Why in the world do you think Curry would be good here?

Move over Juice, my favorite player from the rookie class.
Official: Pistons & Hamilton agree to 3-year deal
By LARRY LAGE, AP Sports Writer

DETROIT (AP)-The Detroit Pistons kept one All-Star guard under contract for years to come on the same day they sent one packing.

Richard Hamilton and the Pistons have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth about $34 million, a basketball official told The Associated Press on Monday night.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced, said two years of the contract are guaranteed and the third is partially guaranteed.

Detroit dealt All-Star Chauncey Billups, key reserve Antonio McDyess and project Cheikh Samb to the Denver Nuggets for 2001 NBA MVP Allen Iverson earlier in the day.

Hamilton's current $62 million, seven-year contract was signed five years ago.

Hamilton, who led Detroit with 19 points Monday night in the Pistons' 101-83 victory at Charlotte, declined to speak to reporters after the game.

"We definitely wanted Rip in the fold as we continue to make this run," coach Michael Curry said. "He's a valuable piece to this puzzle."

The three-time All-Star helped the Pistons win the 2004 NBA title and advance to the Eastern Conference finals last season for the sixth straight year.

Washington drafted the shooting guard No. 7 overall in 1999 after the junior led Connecticut to a national title, earning Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four honors.

The Wizards traded him to Detroit three years later for Jerry Stackhouse.

Hamilton has averaged nearly 18 points in the regular season and has increased his scoring to nearly 21 points per game in the postseason.

Hamilton broke Isiah Thomas' franchise record for playoff scoring last season and finished with 2,414 points and played in his 116 postseason game, surpassing Bill Laimbeer's team mark. He has scored at least 20 points in 58 playoff games since 2003, giving him a two-game lead over San Antonio's Tim Duncan in that category and a double-digit lead over any other superstar, according to STATS.

The player known as Rip has an edge against opponents because he can run tireless around screens, curling open for mid-range shots. He has improved his overall game with the Pistons, playing stronger defense, making better passes and connecting on more 3-point shots.

Where is he going to play with Stuckey on the come up?

Are they just going to have Stuckey play off the bench?
There is no way you can stick AI on the bench IMO.

So I guess AI is going to play the 1 with Rip at 2 and Prince at the 3.
