The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I skipped live and 2k this yr and didnt miss em. Woulda skipped Madden but I got ea access premier, so I Midas whale download em for the next yr
I usually buy The Show and 2K (been a 2K day one cop since NBA 2K7 and day one on the Show since 15). Didn't get either this year. Did buy Madden but waited until a heavy BF discount. Only copped because the Bears are killing this year and I haven't played the game since Madden 10. I enjoy the change of sports, but the game itself has a lot of wonks.

Sports games ain't what they used to be. Hard for me to say I won't buy another one, but I probably will never be day 1 on one again. Hell, I used to plan vacations away from work around 2K releases. My have times changed.

My old online crew still heavily involved though, so I could jump back in if I want. Just don't have the time I can dedicate to online leagues that I used to.

I damn near bought every 2k game since the beginning.. The last 2k I didnt buy was 2k9 and I never bought 2k8..

Got some GameStop gift cards.

They're closed today so I will go tomorrow and pickup ps plus. I will also pickup SotC Remaster.

Played a bunch of NBA Playgrounds 2 today with my nephews and brother. I recommend checking it out if you can do couch multiplayer. Had a blast with it.

Playgrounds looks like a fun game especially since no new NBA Jam seems to be down the pipeline.

But I can't rock with it with 2K doing their usual microtransactions ********.

I see I'm not the only one whose interest in sports games has waned.

This year I copped Madden (hardly played it); didn't copped MLB The Show this year and pick up 2K19 during the Black Friday sale (still haven't played it).

Will pick up Madden and 2K next year on Black Friday.

Plan to pick up The Show 19 on release date since I haven't played a baseball game in forever.

I remember getting 2k14 for PS4 and thinking the menu was glitched because it looked so generic :lol

That was also my first “true” next gen experience when I couldn’t play the game until it was done installing despite it letting me run pickup games

Yea unfortunately the game is made to lure you into microtransactions. I resisted and it paid off. It’s cool to not start with Bron, KD, Kobe, MJ because it makes you have fun with guys you usually wouldn’t use like Clyde Drexler and Darryl Dawkins. And then when you unlock legends it’s rewarding. But there’s the flip side where the grind makes it tempting to pay the extra $10 to get all the players.

Welp that Team no backlog thing lasted while it could:rofl:
Got GOW and HZD complete edition yesterday(priced too good to pass up) and we exchanging christmas gifts with the wife's family saturday and someone got me Spider-Man.

On another note GOW is :wow::wow::wow: It's easily my GOY and thats only because I tried 3 seperate time to get into the other ones on PS3 because everyone was raving about it and it just wasn't for me, felt repetitive. This though, is what I've been wanting and waiting for. The epic landscape of LOTR with the intimacy of "The Road", sprinkled in with supporting characters who make the most of their screen time.
Game is hard(for me) on the default setting which is great.
Perfect change of pace from the ambiguity of RDR2. There's def a lot to take in though with the customizations, and I'm searching everywhere for them chests.
Picked a hell of a year to update to current gen.
Unless PS5 is backwards compatible out the box, may just wait 5 years into it's life cycle and get that. Other than that, pro might be the next move after I see the TV situation come superbowl time.

Target acts like a b sometimes though about matching their own online price then their own damn cartwheel coupon, that's why I say ymmv.
