Does anyone else remember the jampack demo discs for the ps2 back in the day? Learned about some cool games that way and never had war of the monsters, but used to play the demo w my cousin so much

Had no idea there was console hardware mods like the HDMI and disc-drive replacement for the Dreamcast. Just seems expensive but worth it if you love old consoles.

Art of Fighting was cool on the Genesis, rented many times. I don’t think I have a copy of it since I usually run into ones with crappy labels.

I agree to a certain point. They were just limited to what could do back then. They could’ve made them better but would have to sacrifice some stages and even characters. We all know nothing beats actual arcade cabinets.

Most definitely.
It was part memory (going from bigger NEO Geo cartridges to 16-but titles 1/4-1/5 the size) and the difference in hardware. NEO Geo was a beast compared to the SNES, Mega Drive and PC Engine.
I really wish we’d had gotten a NEO Geo two just to see what they could’ve done with more capable hardware. SNK rode that horse for more than a decade. Also that NEO Geo 64 was doo doo compared to the 3D arcade boards around that time (Model 2, Model 3, and System 11/12/22).
Having said that, we all get excited about having a beloved arcade game at home. Despite it being doo doo, I was geeked for Daytona USA on Saturn. Or Ikari Warriors 2 on NES. Shinobi on Sega Master System.
