Had so many convos about this with folks in HS lol. Some guys were like "she's so bad there's no way" while others "ehh she seems little manish to me so I could see it" haha.

Also as a youth I'd read the National Enquirer or other magazine headlines while in line at the grocery store and used to laugh at how wild some of the lines read.

Regular communication (ie talking to real people outside), supermarket tabloids (yeah, a lot of people actually bought those), and entertainers weren’t as accessible, so they wouldn’t confirm/deny every rumor about themselves in real time, if at all.
