I thought Laundrie went missing yesterday when the news broke. Turns out he was MIA since Tuesday and no statement was released. FBI went to his family's house to question them tues and he was gone. Why it took so long for them to release a statement saying he's hiding?
Now they're lookin for him suspecting he's somewhere playing survivor in a wildlife reserve in Florida.
A good friend of mine runs a ngo in East Africa. He reached out to me in Dec 20 to see if I could create a site for a local orphanage at no cost to them. (He knew of it because he was currently in process of adopting a child there and the orphanage itself badly needed funding for resources and supplies for the children).
I'm fairly busy but I wanted to help, so I did. He put me in contact with the orphanage director and his assistant and they got me the content I needed to build the site. I thought it would be impossible but I donated my time and got the site completed for them for $1 in Feb 21. It was pretty robust and gave them a way to accept donations a broad.
In April, the site got attacked and kicked offline. I was having real issues resolving it so I outsourced the repair out of my own pocket to keep things going for them and the kids. It was down for a week but they were extatic we were able to save it and get it back online.
A month ago, my friend who the runs the ngo messaged me saying we need to talk. I responded late but never got a response back. I have been super busy but I reached out last weekend and was able to get a hold of him. He tells me that, the orphanage that I built the site for is involved in human trafficking and that he has cut ties with them. I was speechless...
He said he was able to get his daughter out of there but they are abusing the children and worse... I'm legit in shock (even now). I go out of my my to help and (unknowingly) make a way to continue someones hurt. Never have I ever been this devasted.
He supposed to be contacting Operation Underground railroad. Thankfully he got his daughter out of their. He ended up moving to a different area there...Its just so disheartening all the evil there is in this world. It muddies up all the good trying to get done.... The sites getting shut down. I screen shot all my interactions with the orphanage cus I got nothing to hide. Just a dude that got duped into helping the enemy.
I didnt know where to go with this. I just wanted to vent and get my thoughts off. Sometimes things are so dark, it dont even seem real.
Soon as you said orphanage i knew where this was going. Unfortunately its all to common for these charities to exploit the ones they're supposed to be helping, especially overseas. Im sorry that happened to you, i can't imagine the feeling.
Don't know how to take it : pickpockets or gays ? Never understood this, sometimes they're so close you have to be closer than you would like to the next one in front of you, becoming another part of the problem
experienced this. worst one was last year when people where lining outside to wait to come inside the grocery stores. there was this idiot with a shopping cart that kept on running over us from behind. did it to us twice, gave him the evil eye the 2nd time before he got the message. I was close to being physically confrontational.
regarding confrontations, there was this male Karen today that I saw inside a gamestop store. fool became verbally confrontational against another patron who seemed to have retaliated because of his actions. dunno exactly what happened initially but it was seem not a big deal. male Karen kept on yapping even after some staff broke of the confrontation between the two. about an hour later when I was about to leave the mall, I saw the same male Karen getting at it again with another stranger inside the mall. I guess the guy didn't see him and nudged him. male Karen started shouting calling the attention of the said stranger. stranger seemed to be in a hurry and didn't notice nor paid attention to him. male Karen went after the said stranger. wow, surely there are psychopaths out there. I would guess that male Karen would get in a world of pain once he gets involved with someone physically imposing. freakin companion of the said male Karen did nothing to stop him. not sure if that companion was a family member or a gf. either, I would have done something to get to the point of no return. seen some guys getting at it inside the mall and from what I've seen, the male Karen would surely get a beating if he meets a neanderthal.
