Anyone else taking a kid to college? I don't know where the last 10 years has gone really and that’s making me feel kind of old.

Kind of enjoying the peace here right now though - we got his room all sorted out yesterday and stayed in a local hotel then drove home today after a few final things.

The funny thing was when we got home his younger brother had basically erased all signs of his existence from their shared space.

I had a kid graduate college last month, but I know how you feel Fam, congrats and job well done Sir.

Out of the blue, Amy texted me on Signal a few hours ago asking if I still had any firearms lying around, while also changing Signal's message deletion timer to 5 minutes
Obviously I asked her what the deal was with asking a wild question like that out of nowhere and if everything was ok but she ignored my texts despite instantly reading them. She didn't pick up either when I tried to call her at some point later.
She finally called back to explain herself and it turns out some scumbag apparently sexually assaulted her last weekend and she feels unsafe She did file a police report already and feels positive about her sitdown with them but these type of cases often don't result in anything
Some people just have the worst luck, as if her life isn't messed up enough already

College has it's moments. but I guess it's the best since it would be the last time that we are shielded from reality and what is out there. after that, it was pretty much trying to go thru life. highschool has it's moments too. different but has it's upsides and downsides. being in a group of your own. college is almost the same although you are starting to get your own identity and live by yourself and not others. fun times with the girls.
