The latter plus I've already been promised a promotion to 3rd key manager at the current Goodwill I'm working at. Hasn't materialized yet, they're just waiting for a opening so I can fill it.

It will consist of being pressured to sell a bunch of stuff the customer doesn't really want/need but it makes you more money and makes the store metrics look better. Overpriced accessories especially.

Had a similar situation last November. I really want to comment on this, but it’s so many factors to the story. I’d be typing all day. Will try to make it short.
My daughters birthday is November 8. A week prior to, after being fed up with all the emotional drama going on, my daughter came to me because she was tired of seeing me stressed out over her mother and the things she had been doing. Daughter told me everything, things a 14/15 year old shouldn’t even know. Yes, a lot of cheating and some other bs. In an attempt to not ruin my daughters birthday I tried my best to stick it out, but this mess was still bothering me, mainly because she was busted but only told half the truth. The day after our daughters birthday her mother died. The relationship between her mother(hell, her whole family) and I was strained. When none of the other siblings would care for her or take her in, my mom pretty much forced it on our shoulders to do so. So moving into our first house at 23, we are also taking on her mentally unstable mother with our 3 kids. A lot happened and pretty much ruined the experience. Her family agreed they would help, they didn’t. There was no communication between I and her mom. Her mother only spoke to her and her siblings, rarely, and in whispers. Due to a traumatic relationship with their father, she found safety in her beliefs, but her mental was damaged. She neglected the needs of her kids. She was so damaged she did nothing to take care of them after the father left, nor did he. She was there, but technically they were on their own. When the mom passed I was truly hurt, mainly because of what she went through and I knew how much my lady cared for her and wished she could do more. But it was hard to put aside the bombs that had dropped on me, BY MY DAUGHTER!!. She really felt I was suppose to let all go after that or that her mother’s passing was a scapegoat to avoid the conversation. I’m sorry and sad about your mother, but my feelings are everywhere too. You can’t expect me to forget all because you’re hurting. Over the years before her passing I brought it up to my lady many times about us moving and getting her mother again, being that her sister and her husband were bout to divorce due to the things their mom was doing while living with there. My lady was having all these spiritual dreams and experiences. Every time I would tell her “go see and talk to your mom”. She didn’t, not once. The only time she did was if they were having a kickback at the sisters house. Her mother’s birthday is a few days after our twin boys. Instead of finding solace by being with them she chose to just be in her feelings over her mother. Crazy…..why? Because with all her mother was battling, guess where she found solace? Her kids.
