The Wire Fans: Let's re-visit this scene

being an honest working person doesn't get you far in life

This is one of the realest quotes, ever.

Matter fact, I tweeted it the other day (no plug):

That Marlo rule the community as a bad guy...and this security guard is a "good guy" but bout to end up dead in field

That he can pretend he is the better person because he is doing the right thing in a correct world, but that world is flawed from the beginning so thereain't no point in taking the "righteous" route.

YO! Mayn... I was listening to LB's Getback, and EVERY time I hear the quote... I get confused.

And that's a difficult task, cause I'm usually a sharp jig.

DF!!!

i don't know what he was trying to say there , I can sit here and pretend to make something of it either. Maybe it was the way he delivered the lines

there are some scenes/situations throughout the Wire's history that I'd love to go over.

there needs to be an official wire discussion thread---only for people who've seen EVERY episode, or who don't mind havin' !$%+ "spoiled"so to speak....

I thought he meant you wanna come at me, but you don't want me to retaliate, or say anything back back , but it don't work like that marlo showedpeople that all their actions had consequences no matter how small or insignificant they may have been

IDYMS- that's a good idea we need a official thread

yeah, but Marlo sort of initiated the confrontation by stealing the candy right in front the security guard just because he could. I guess Marlo could havemeant to show that the rules apply to everyone except him.

This scene clearly was made to show how much of a sociopath Marlo is and the fact that he did stuff to people just toshow he could do it....

^also gives insight into his world view. He truly believed if he wasn't ruthless, the next person would be and get him.
