I'm just wondering y is it that they won't retro cars? Imagine being able to buy a real muscle car? A classic? A mustang, camaro, impala, etc.

It wouldn't make sense. The costs of reproducing a shirt, shoe, or toy are minimal. Mass producing an intricate product like a car would be costly and inmost cases would not be a guaranteed sale.

they gotta reproduce parts too for when the car needs new ones. plus the reason they came out newer cars is because technology advanced so you aren'tnecessarily getting the best product (though the same can be said for everything you listed).

true but most likely they'd be more expensive if limited than if they were "general release"

it really depends what models...if it's a very rare model that cannot be found elsewhere, then yeah it can happen

hmmmm.....i don't know, instead of making all of these retro themed cars, i think they should just make the old car with new parts.

that's why those shelby cobra shells sell, because people want a cobra.

Pretty much.

Sometimes, they bring back nameplates (Pontiac GTO, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet Monte Carlo) or names similar to the original (Ford GT, Nissan 350Z). And thenthere are companies that reproduce classics, such as the Shelby Cobra, as stated above, and the Shelby GT500.

And then you have the cars that take design cues from other cars from decades past....

I've thought about this before, but sadly it'll never happen. It wouldn't be the smartest idea financially at all. I'd love to see a brand new2010 (1990) lol Ford Mustang 5.0....Imagine one of those in a showroom with plastic on the seats and a window sticker? Oh, and a warranty? lol

They are...kind of. Look at the new mustangs, camaros, and challengers, even the thunderbird from a few years back....they all have a very retro look. Like theclassic body updated with a little modern style.
