I'm totally down for "dumb" funny, but they arent funny at all. I gave the show plenty of chances. I even watched it zooted. I watch it withe stoneface the whole time. Its like they try too hard to be stupid. I didn't even know it was possible to try too hard to be stupid.

You were expecting something different out of the show and put your own expectations on it, that's why it doesn't appeal to you.

With shows like that you just have to sit back and not put your own judgments on it. Tim and Eric isn't like my favorite show or anything, but when I watch episodes from time to time it always blows me away with how accurately the show reflects my mind when I'm really stoned.

I get what they're trying to do, but I find their brand of anti-humor to be awful. There's plenty of shows that actually want to make the audience laugh that I'd prefer to watch.

pretty much this. the whole 'anti-humor' alt-comedy genre is tricky. VERY thin line between awkward and flat out unbearable. for dudes like tim and eric, they take it to the extreme. it's like their pleasure comes from making others feel as awkward and uncomfortable as they did growing up. goes to the mayor had it's moments, but all their new stuff is not for me. don't get it at all. its not because it 'goes over my head'. its because i dont buy what theyre selling.

some of that dude Eric's music videos are interesting. but, even then, i feel the motivation is 'this will be effed up' as opposed to 'pushing the envelope' artistically. didnt he film a ******ed guy banging a hooker in front of a green screen? groundbreaking stuff.




just recently got put on to the Eric Andre show. saw him a few years back at the Laugh Factory and was a fan. didnt even know his name until i started watching the show and recognized him. good example of absurdity without the forced discomfort. its like they want the viewer to laugh... as opposed to laughing at the viewer. fancy that.

The only thing I like about the Tim and Eric show is the Dr Steve Brule clips. The rest of the show is ehh... Eric Andre is beyond boring and I use it to put me to bed. Loiter Squad was funny for 2 episodes.
