Anyone done it before, where did you go?
If I had the funds I would def do it right now, it's exactly what I need. Just need to get away and to have some peace of mind. Go to some secluded island resort or something

Not having to wait on other people looking and being able to enjoy the night life without a tired D blocking friend. Sounds good to me

But really, I see no problem with it. It can be very difficult to travel with people. You'll see a different side of even your brother after traveling together. I don't know if it's society as a whole or just NT as a microcosm, but people are too desperate to do things together.

Yeah just like that movie, maybe find some local tail haha
But yeah I don't see a problem with it either, wish I had extra money to spend to do it.

I've went to the casinos by myself for the weekend just because my wife doesn't like to gamble. I have more fun doing that but when it comes down to going on resort I rather go with the wife

Not by choice, but I did it before. I spent 4 weeks in North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria).

. Not to sound like a cliche, but you learn things about yourself when you're solo.
. No restrictions.. You can do whatever you want without others opinion intervening.
. Meet random people. Cool stuff.

All in all it was cool, scary and responsibility will be on another level.

expand on this a little?  I am considering spending up to a few months in Spain in hopes to improve my Spanish and all of those countries (especially Morocco) are places I wanted to explore while I'm there.  how easy is it to get there and find a half-decent place to stay?

Getting into Morocco is not hard at all, no Visa requirement for U.S/European Citizens. Also, Morocco is not expensive at all, I think 100Euro is like a thousand something Moroccan Dirham. And 100$ is like 800.

The place is pretty freaking exotic, something out of Indian Jones movie. Marrakech, Fez, Casablanca and Tanjier. I also drove from Western Sahara all the way to Tanjier, which is practically not that far off from southern spain.

There are a bunch of boutique hotels, strong European influence. Could range from $40 to $140 for a decent spot.
EDIT:  I think you can actually drive down from Spain to Morocco (Using a boat to cross). Also Morocco is pretty damn big, although the transportation system (planes/trains/taxis) are not expensive, the trips tend to be super long.

That sounds pretty nice actually. I always thought Morocco was a place like Monaco, where a lot of wealthy people go and live

Have done it on several occasions, unfortunately I don't have "American Pie" and "Road Trip" type friends that share my enthusiasm or financial status for travel.

Last think we did was go camping on Lake Michigan, and I had to DRAG these dudes with FRIENDSHIP ultimatums to go, they ended enjoying themselves and clubbing with females
up there good times most fun we had since kids...(my friends 20 years +)

Went a few places by myself, I found it more enjoyable. Met new friends and acquaintances and didn't have to deal with arguing over activities or time constraints.
Every time I've traveled with friends it always comes close to fist fights cause we're all alphas.

Plan on visiting  Prauge, Norway, Amsterdam, Dubai, Ibiza and Tokyo over the next 2 years  any NT'ers wanna plan a trip I'm down wit it...
