1 NBA regular season MVP: 2008; 1 NBA Finals MVP: 2009; 3-time All-Star game MVP: 2009, 2007, 2001
4-time NBA champion: 2009, 2002, 2001, 2000

Tim Duncan: 21ppg, 12 rpg, 3apg, 2.32bpg
All-NBA First Team: 2007, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000
All-NBA Second Team: 2009, 2008, 2006

10 All Star game appearances all as a starter
2-time NBA regular season MVP: 2003, 2002; 2-time NBA Finals MVP: 2005, 2003; 1 All-Star game MVP: 2000
3-time NBA champion: 2007, 2005, 2003

Shaquille O'Neal: 24ppg, 11rpg, 2apg, 2.24bpg
All-NBA First Team: 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000
All-NBA Third Team: 2009
All-NBA Defensive Team: 2003, 2001, 2000 (2nd team)
9 All Star game appearances (8 as a starter)
1 NBA regular season MVP: 2000; 3-time NBA Finals MVP: 2002, 2001, 2000; 2-time All-Star game MVP: 2009, 2004, 2000
4-time NBA champion: 2006, 2002, 2001, 2000

Looking at the numbers, I may have to reconsider my decision, even know the Spurs as a team were good for the entire decade, individually, KB could have itover Timmy, but it's a tough call.

It kills me when people tell me I should stop posting numbers, then they post PPG,APG,REB, this is where numbers lie.

Kobe's and Shaqs points rebounds and assists should be higher becuase they played in a higher tempo offense.
Higher tempo = More possessions
More possessions = more points, assists, rebounds.

The Lakers consistently ranked in the top 10 in tempo every year except 2000-2001,
The Spurs consistently ranked in the bottom 5 in tempo every year.

Thats why judging things per possesion makes alot more sense.

Tim Duncan is probably offensively inferior to Shaq, and to Kobe (not by much), Tim Duncan is by far the best defensive player of this decade and the fact thathe hasn't won a DPOY is dumb, thats becuase traditional stats are worthless for tracking Tim Duncans defensive impact.

Just to give you an idea among active players Tim Duncan has the most defensive win shares(a players defensive value to his team) the next closest guy is KevinGarnett who is about 14 behind him.

1.Tim Duncan75.69
2.Kevin Garnett69.59
3.Dikembe Mutombo67.86
4.Ben Wallace64.56
5.Shaquille O'Neal63.28
6.Jason Kidd62.54
7.Rasheed Wallace51.68
8.Shawn Marion48.05
9.Marcus Camby45.53
10.Paul Pierce41.37
[th=""]Rank[/th] [th=""]Player[/th] [th=""]DWS[/th]

Tim Duncan is the best player of this decade without question.
