Why do we suffer?

Some days wouldn't be special, if it wasn't for rain
Joy wouldn't feel so good, if it wasn't for pain

Because that's the world we live in. I mean if you're rich enough I guess you could just chill inside all day and have food and women sent to you. What's the fun in not goin outside and taken some risks though? We learn through suffering

I think we suffer because it is a means for humans to grow spiritually and experience joy. Living your life to stay in your comfort zone would halt reaching your true potential in life and would lead to being satisfied with mediocrity.

For example if we never go through the pain of lifting weights at the gym we wouldn't experience the joy of feeling and looking good. If we don't take a job interview because we want to avoid the suffering of the application process we wouldn't feel the joy if we land the gig. So I think a life without suffering would be a life without joy.
