Why is suicide looked down upon?

Also, the majority of the causes of suicide cases, about over 90%, are depression or a mental illness. When people commit suicide, they are unstable. How can you even judge them when the are not even thinking clearly? So easy to judge and call them selfish. Try living in their head through the hell they go through the point they want to take their life.

I read what you wrote and I understood the word "control" to be essential in that sentence. I think I understood what you wrote at least on a basic level. But anyway, the pic in relation to your post is just funny man.

What if Heaven's Gate was right and we were all wrong?

Some people really didn't ask to be put on Earth --- is it also selfish for people to procreate because they're dependent on love?

Different perspective on life is all. Committing suicide because you feel like a failure is weak but there is nothing wrong with leaving earth if you feel like you have no duty here. There is escaping and there is searching. Some people do it for the latter and there is no judgement to impose IMO.

Suicide is looked down on because you live in America in 2012 and that's the paradigm that this body of consciousness (society) is exhibiting right now due to numerous reasons ranging from religion to opionions of right and wrong. If you lived in Tibet in the 14th century you would be celebrated for it, if you were a Japanese Samaurai and you felt dishonored or suffered defeat you would thoughtlessly commit it. If you were a Camisard you would commit it for religious beliefs. My point is that all you are is the product of the group consciusness of society in the time and cycle of human existence upon this earth. Your judgements, beliefs and thoughts about a particular subject will whither away and die just like the flesh on your bones. Gods,change, beliefs change and cycles end. Nothing dies, energy does not dissipate it only tranfers. Some carry heavy burden on their heart and minds while upon this earth and choose to end their suffering through death. This is not for you to judge just as believing the sky should be purple instead of blue. Play your position and let others play theirs.
