Worst Divison in Baseball?

i said i would take the al west out of that worst divison consideration because theres 1 good team and 2 potential good teams who are decent on paper. the a's are young but i doubt their ready to compete for a wild card spot yet


for the nl west the dodgers are going to regress due to their ownership situation, im almost certain the rockies will regress similar to how they did after their 2007 world series run (if im wrong on this one im wrong and ill admit that) and i just didnt see the giants make the moves needed to take the next step after overacheiving last season.

i hope the dodgers prove me wrong though because i got a hook up on tickets so i want to go to more dodger playoff games this year

Anyone saying the NL Central needs to gtfohwtbs! It's easily the AL West. The Cardinals, Cubs and Milwaukee (Though I hate to say it) are in a dog fight for the division. Houston was there for a bit, but you have 3 teams fighting for that division every season. It's not long before the Reds will be in it too. Yes the Pirates are a lock for the cellar every year, but that's just a given.

but anyhow the dodgers decided to be cheap and get worse, the giants didn't do much do improve on the good season they had last year, the rockies stayed the same,  the diamondbacks made some decent moves but i don't think their ready to contend and the padres are the padres.  if im wrong im wrong i won't make no excuses but i hope im wrong, even though im a mets fan, i wanna go to as many dodger playoff games as i can this season like i've done the past 2 playoffs

So basically in a thread discussing "the" worst division in baseball you decided to name 2/3 of the divisions... So only the East is legit? No bias there I assume

none really,   al east has 3 strong teams and 2 which are a threat to win the world series, nl east has a legit world series team, a team who IF HEALTHY is a legit contender, and solid teams in the braves and marlins.   every east team is good or should be good except the blue jays, orioles, and nationals.

nl west has the dodgers who got worse, the rockies, a slightly above average team in the giants,  and crap

The Dodgers lost in the NLCS so take them out of the equation. The Rockies are a slightly above average team? They won the Wild Card. The Giants aren't too shabby either.

The Diamondbacks had a number of significant injuries last year.

Look for them to be much more competitive this season.

I personally don't think we are the worst division. Cleveland was supposed to be contenders, but that didn't work out and now they sold off a bunch of players. The Twins, Tigers, and White Sox will all make a push towards the playoffs. I think even the Royals will surprise people this year. Cleveland is too young and too many questions right now.

The NL West is a crapshoot. San Diego sucks. The Diamondbacks are inconsistent. The Dodgers are good, but not great. And the Rockies will win by default again. Too much talent in the lineup top to bottom. And the Giants don't have much of an offense. I don't know how they won that may games last year.

What have your pathetic Rangers ever accomplished...really? The only team even worth mentioning in that division is the Angels and they sucked until 2002. You might see my avy/sig combo and immediately believe I am a homer, but:

-The NL Central has the Astros, Pirates, Reds and Brewers. All four suck currently. In fact, the Pirates, Reds and Brewers only have one combined division winner since 1995.
-All four of those teams above were under .500 last season (and the Cubs were a few games away from .500). The AL Central had "only" three teams under .500. Still one less than the NL Central though.
-It's a general consensus that the AL is stronger than the NL.Therefore, certain records might be bloated/deflated depending on theteams they play throughout the year.
-Many people believe that the White Sox, with their rotation of Peavy, Buehrle, Danks, and Floyd, will be back again this year. Detroit tied Minnesota for the division last year but came up short in Game 163. The Twins gained Orlando Hudson, Jim Thome, JJ Hardy and Clay Condrey and many people have said they are the team not named the Mariners to take the biggest step forward this season.

Also, the NL Central might be the only division to already have the division champion decided before the season even starts.
