Fightful Select - More details from the AEW fight backstage - Ace Steel throws a chair and bites Kenny Omega

A lot of rumors and details about the AEW post-scrum skirmish have emerged.

Punk's trainer Ace Steel was said to have been involved from most everyone we spoke with. Others noted that Nick Jackson ended up getting "rocked" or knocked out, and leaving him marked up after the fight. That ended up happening as a result of Ace Steel throwing a chair, according to numerous sources. Kenny Omega and Ace Steel were also have said to have "tussled," with Steel allegedly biting Omega and grabbing him by the hair.

"A lot of cursing, a lot of mayhem, and a lot of people not being willing to hash it out," said one person who was familiar with the situation.

We're told at least one of the coaches was "very torn up" about what happened. Right after Punk's scrum ended, a security guard ended up darting backstage. There are several that we've spoken to that think there could be legal ramifications to the situation. There have been reports that Christopher Daniels and Pat Buck were involved in the situation which seem to vary based on who you talk to, but we've not confirmed as much. There were several people trying to de-escalate the situation.

Yay real Professional Wrestling is on!

Thank you WWE for saving the business.

WWE doesnt have to fabricate drama for the past six weeks and forever from now to get views, they deal with real drama and inprove from that.

AEW might not even last 2 years from now.

Its ok yall can go back to DVD only PWG after.

For the MANY of you who have written us asking about what happened backstage at the AEW All Out PPV, I haven't been ignoring you but was out all day. Based on what we have heard from those in the company today, here is what we can asceration:

*After Punk finished venting his heart out at the AEW All Out Media Scrum, he returned to his locker room, where there was an altercation.

*Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks went to Punk's locker room and confronted him about his comments during the scrum.

*There was a physical altercation with Punk and Matt and Nick Jackson.

*No one sharing stories is quite sure who threw the first punch.

*Kenny Omega was there but did not get into a physical altercation with Punk.

*Ace Steel arrived and did get involved as his wife was in the vicinity of the incident, possibly even inside Punk's locker room as she was watching over Punk's dog Larry. Steel was said to have gotten physically involved.

*A number of AEW staff and security hit the scene to break up the fracas and separate the Punk side from the Elite side.

*Once the sides were separated, they continued to argue for some time before The Bucks and Omega exited the area of Punk's locker room

*Tony Khan was not present at the incident as he was still on stage for the media scrum.

*At least one of the Bucks returned to the hotel late last night sporting a black eye.

*We have heard from a number of people in the company backing one side and blaming the other. Some were backing Omega and The Bucks, given Punk's comments, feeling Punk's verbal statements led to the incident. Others were backing Punk and questioning why EVPs stormed into his locker room, placing Punk in a situation where he would be outnumbered and that has to shoulder some of the blame. Others are questioning how things will go down at TV this Wednesday given the situation involved the company's new champion, three EVPS and a Producer, all of whom are in positions of being leaders behind the scenes.

*The Bucks and Omega left Chicago earlier today.

*AEW is being very tight-lipped about the situation but the belief among those we've spoken with is the company is likely trying to determine where blame should be placed and what their course of action is going forward.

*It should be noted that over the course of the day, some of the stories around the incident have gotten more and more fantastical and involved other names. In regard to FTR (who are close with Punk) and Hangman Page (close with the Elite, obviously), they were not present as they had all exited the NOW Arena after the PPV had concluded as they were not needed for the Media Scrum. They were not involved.

*There were some who had sympathy for MJF, feeling the situation overshadowed his return angle that closed the PPV.

The most surprising thing to read from that was Punk has a trainer.

You wouldn’t think he did.

Took down tons of soda and pastries at that presser, couldn’t put in half his holds without falling over.

AEW as a PPV was good, entirely too long. Could have cut quite a few matches entirely or back significantly to reduce to at least 4 hours.

The main event wasn’t good, you have a good Champion in Mox. Who rag dolled Punk all over. Punk barely pulled it out, looked weak. So now you have a paper champion that is going directly into an MJF booking?

I’ve already commented about what they did in their squash match, so this match equally makes no sense and makes Punk look weak. How he conducted himself in that presser further makes him look like a petulant child which is ironic.

Everything MJF was unfortunately corny as hell.

Overall a good PPV, but the ending was certainly a let down.

Don’t get why Domanick joined Judgement Day after helping his dad and The Edge beat them at the PPV. Weird. Thought something could be done with a debuting Legado.

Not sure why Brawn is interrupting the tag match, but he looks gigantic.

Braun with nipple piercings :wow:
