After a relatively uneventful loss to John Cena right on the heels of a devastating failed MITB cash-in, speculation is rampant that Baron Corbin has backstage heat, possibly for his twitter antics. Today on WOR at http://f4wonline.com, Dave Meltzer touched on this issue in a very insightful episode.

Dave stated that after losing to Cena in an unremarkable match that Corbin is definitely being "punished." Dave said that the booking of Corbin in the match did not make him come off as a featured or important performer, but rather "just a guy." After yesterday reporting that backstage is very high on Bobby Roode, and speculating that Roode would be positioned as a top-5 wrestler on whichever brand he is called up to, Meltzer today speculated that he wouldn't be surprised if Roode is called to SDL and gets Corbin's spot. Meltzer commented that the Cena match didn't even appear to be botched or messed up in any way; it was not laid out to be a good match.

Meltzer also discussed Enzo's backstage heat. He said that "everyone hates Enzo," and reported that the heat is now far worse than it was 2 weeks ago when first reported. He isn't sure exactly why, but things have gotten worse not better for Enzo. Dave noted that Enzo wasn't even that over with the crowd at Summerslam, which Dave says is bad news for Enzo, because his being over was the one thing he had going for him with the company. Dave also noted that Booker T, of course a babyface announcer, seemed to go out of his way to bury Enzo on commentary.

2 of possibly 3 matches that should have been on the pre-show. Summerslam is one of your Big 4(?) shows and you're putting on 5 second matches, and matches used to kill off guys. Just end this Enzo experiment already. As I had mentioned previously the entire group of Sanity has really impressed me as of late between character development and in ring. Wolf had been around as more of a jobber before but he obviously is getting some justified shine now. I they will get to use the Freebird Rule as far as how they defend the titles. Makes for more unique matches and varieties in style for said matches.
