Undertaker will probably feud with Jericho for his retirement feud or possibly an up-and-comer because that's the guy that he is

i HOPE its jericho ending Undertakers feud or maybe even his streak at WM? but i think it's only right for Undertaker to retire undefeated at WM

Extremely low buyrate for TNA's Slammiversary:
Last month's TNA pay-per-view, Slammiversary, was only ordered by a 7,000 people according to sources. While the number has not been confirmed, the reports floating around saying Slammiversary drew that particular number.

If the report is indeed true, the low-end fraction of TNA's viewership that purchased last month's pay-per-view would be 1 in 214 iMPACT! viewers as the show typically draws over 1.5 million viewers on a weekly basis.

The show was headlined by Kurt Angle vs. Mick Foley vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a King of the Mountain match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

J.R. blogs on HBK, Morrison and announce teams:
On John Morrison's Week: We've received a great deal of positive feedback on the Jeff Hardy vs. John Morrison bout on this past Friday Night Smackdown. Actually, Morrison had the best week of any one in a WWE ring, in my humble opinion, as Morrison's bout vs. Tyson Kidd on WWE Superstars on WGN American Thursday night was stout as well. I'm anxious to see how these talents are followed up with this week as many in the biz always believed in striking while the iron was hot.

On Announce Teams: Why aren't there more protagonist/antagonist announce teams like there was with Monsoon/Ventura, JR/Heyman, etc? I don't have a profound answer on this subject but I have my assumptions. I think that organizations may feel like it is too "old school 'rasslin" and don't want to go there. It also could be the announce talent base that man many announce positions. It is an art form to be able to balance the good guy/bad guy chemistry in a broadcast booth and not make the show about the announcers but instead focus on the talent. I love the angst that can be created in the right broadcast setting but as long as the broadcasters remember that they are there to enhance the wrestlers' perception/stature/personas. I will admit that some of the most fun I ever had broadcasting was with partners who were perceived as villains such as the aforementioned and talented Heyman, whose persona was extremely easy to dislike, Jerry Lawler in the early to mid 90's whose sarcastic wit was usually spot on and whose timing with yours truly was damn near seamless, and Jim Cornette who had an amazing understanding of the business and knew his antagonist role amazingly well and was one of the very best broadcasters for the genre of pro wrestling that I ever worked with in my 30+ years.

On HBK: Yes, I feel that HBK will be back in WWE action soon, as do most. Furthermore if Shawn's schedule is properly managed he can continue to contribute at a high level for several years to come, if he so chooses. My opinion is that in the upcoming years that a HBK at 75% is better than the vast majority of the men who earn a living in the wrestling biz today.

anyone read Jericho's book A Lion's Tale? just bought it yesterday and so far so good

Paul Heyman & TNA:
There is a feeling among friends of Paul Heyman that he would accept a position with TNA if he had power beyond just writing the shows. Heyman apparently feels TNA needs an overhaul both on the talent side and in the office but doesn't believe Dixie Carter would give him so much power, so he isn't taking the idea of working for TNA seriously. Likewise, Carter hasn't reached out to Heyman regarding a creative position yet despite recommendations.

Heyman does have detractors within TNA, primarily those who fear they would lose power or even their jobs if Heyman was brought in and given the power he wants. Meanwhile, others simply don't have confidence in his abilities anymore.

Heyman's name has come up within TNA before, and there are many stories of people badmouthing him to Dixie Carter. While most of the locker room seems open to the idea, there's bad blood between Heyman and Team 3D and some other former ECW stars who have shared stories about mismanagement in ECW.

On the other side of the coin, Heyman has had good relationships with Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, Shawn Daivari, and Ken "Mr. Kennedy" Anderson who is expected to sign with TNA eventually. He's also had a good rapport over the years with TNA head of talent relations Terry Taylor, whose stock within the company seems to be rising.

Nevertheless, it might be a difficult sell to Carter, who has been hearing bad stories about Heyman for years. Plus, there are already some within the company who feel that Heyman publicly saying he would "never" work for TNA was a snub and the primary reason why Carter shouldn't consider bringing him in.

IMO heyman needs to go to TNA i think he would do a great job there. Get it done dixie -.- lol

I'd like to see Heyman and Russo plus Cornette book TNA. I think the combo of those 3 would be Sick!

WWE creative team changes Summerslam card:
WWE held a creative meeting yesterday and the card for SummerSlam on August 23 has changed again.

While the matches already advertising now featuring Randy Orton vs. John Cena for the WWE Title and Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. Cryme Tyme for the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles are still on, the original undercard saw many changes.

Update on Jarrett & Karen Angle:
While the situation with Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle was said to be known among a few people in TNA for some time now (being a combination of wrestlers and some in the office), a majority of people were shocked to hear the news when it got out through the "Bubba the Love Sponge" radio show.

TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that Karen is not living in Hendersonville, TN with Jeff, but she is there a lot of the time and was there as recently as this past week. The relationship between Jeff and Karen goes back many months and was even said to be going on before the official divorce between Karen and Kurt Angle.

No one seems to know when Jarrett will be returning to the company, but some have stated his absence at the last set of TV tapings was noticeable with Vince Russo pushing ideas without that "Jarrett filter" as some have described it. The company already cut creative team member Dutch Mantel this week along with road agent Savio Vega in moves that were described as the first of many. While it was stated earlier that the company had no plans to seek outside booking help, the release of Mantel has gotten people talking (especially since he was considered a among the many "Jarrett allies") and how some big changes could be coming with Jarrett gone.
