Thats really what it is called and its pretty serious (in a way that many people are affected). Do a search for it and you'll find a ton of articles.

This happens to me ALL the time. I'll be at work and my phone is on my hip and I think it's vibrating all the time...

We've become to sensitive to our cell phones ringing/vibrating, so there are instances when we think the phone is vibrating, but it is not.

Happens to me constantly and it doesnt even have to be the vibrating I feel. Sometimes I hear the ringtone too and I check and it's not even there.

My phone dropped one year and it would ONLY vibrate....this went on for like 6 months. Needless to say after those 6 months I felt a vibration in my pocket allthe time(no ayo)
