We just need to change this into a change the toe box post for every single Nike Retro. This post has showed me toe boxes I didn't even know were butchered.

Nike has ruined the toe box of the majority of shoes they have ever retroed.

I saw these 8s today and the toe boxes are crazy.

done right. I didn’t own the OGs, but have played in them a few times and they are fire. Heard the 16’s sucked so I passed.

Missed out on this one age wise, but I always thought the shoe looked extremely sick and would have been cool to feel some OG zoom.

Can you tell I was poor in 2004? Never owned these, but would really love two. Got the 2’s ar outlets for $70 and loved them.

I still own these, and still have my OG white blue red pair that is completely destroyed. Soles hanging off. I love this shoe and it was almost number one, but:

Did these come out in 2015? Yes.
Were they cheap? Yes.
Was I broke from getting married? Yes.
Am I now broke from getting divorced? Yes.

Hopefully we will se a retro of this in 2019 as it's the 20th anniversary. I noticed there wasn't a thread dedicated to the shoe yet. Here's an old ad I don't think would have passed the PC test today though:

For the love of God why we have not had a single retro of this CW is beyond my comprehension.
These aside a run of all OG 12 CWs are a must, with metal lace loops as well none of this cheap plastic garbage.

Impossible to have a 5 but good enough to gain traction. I'm seeing kicks in here I have been complaining about in agony that slipped my mind. I went off the top but those Chicago Air More Uptempos, Air Force Max, Nike Tuned Max are ones I have been seriously worried about death before I see their retros

Finally getting Tuned Max's this month so that's excellent. Those Carolina XIV's are LEGENDARY. Back then the only colorways that really caught my eye were those, Oxides, and the Laney lows. If they come back they have to use that Jordan 1 UNC low SB blue.

Bought these in Atlanta back when they had World Footlocker on a choir trip (joined cuz my boy was chasin this broad around). Hotel shuttle driver was gonna sneak us into Magic City, took us to Waffle House right before, where we all got jacked . Later that night at the hotel, joint got held up by some stick up kids My boy was shook the whole rest of the trip!!! Great times yo!!

I had these black Vick’s and these white ones too when they came out. They came with a head band lol. They were extremely comfortable. I felt they had a little bit of late 90s hoop shoe vibes but were a turf shoe. They would’ve been bad on court cuz side to side containment was bad, oddly enough. My only knock aesthetically was the toe box was kind of weirdly shaped imo. Loved the shoe then though, especially being a big Vick fan, but I’m not sure I’d cop now. Maybe for nostalgia purposes

I agree with that - however I was merely speaking on the shape and toes aspect. Anyone who owned the original Maestro 2 from '95 and can remember how unique the shape of that shoe was, knows how bad Nike butchered the shape of the retro. Materials and comfort good? Yes for sure!

This is the most important thing to me anymore. Not just retroing something, but doing the shape and proportions well.
Like others have said, no way to really pick just five. But I'll leave Jordans out of it for now. Sorry, I jacked some of the photos posted already because these really are the five I wish I could have again done well:

OK, so that's more than five I had two pairs of these modernized Zoom Trainers. Wore them into the ground. Amazing shoe.
There are so many more.
And, I lied about keeping Jordans out of it. Before we knew these were coming, this was my longstanding No. 1 wish. I cannot overstate how jazzed I am for these in the fall. Unless they totally butcher them (possible), I am buying five pairs:
