i think that denim should be judged on it's mill/washhouse more than it's style.  The term selvage has been equated to a particular production element, however has been bastardized by many brands and no longer holds value.

keihara, kurabo are great mills for shuttle loom denim in general.  cone mills is obviously the coup de grace of denim on this planet.  however aside from the afformentioned japanese mills and cone mills isko in turkey might be the nicest current production mill in the world.

focusing on a style, even if based in production is kind of an apples to oranges thing.  if you want nice jeans, make sure they were loomed and constructed well. nuff said

New H&M or the upcoming H&M x Lanvin collection? H&M has always been good for my style to be honest, a bit fashion forward but still has some classic that can be puled off on a day to day basis. For the upcomign Lanvin x H&M, I am looking forward to it. I still expect low quality but I want to see what they come up with. As usual, it won't be easy to find but I am hoping that Lanvin isn't mainstream enough that a bunch of people are lining up to take everything from the collection.

I just took my jeans to be repaired.  for 40 bucks theyll fix EVERYTHING on the jean.  Better still is the service is only 20 bucks if you bought the jeans there.

I'll post some after pics in less than a week, when I get them back.

I think the Nudie Slim Jim and APC Petite Standards fit similar to 511's, although they get a bit complicated because you have to consider the fact that it stretches a lot so you have to size down and suffer your balls being crushed for the first few wears to get it to where it the fit would be to your liking.

i totally agree, but a couple cardi's priced sub 100 dollar range and the chance of a 120 lanvin shoe would be pretty rad eh? even IF production was less that great. as they've said in countless articles: perhaps this will inspire other fashion houses bridge the gap to the mainstream audience, who is now just copying their look. YSL, chloe, even a mainstream BoO would be fun don't you think?

Recommend a good pair of straight leg (not too skinny) dry selvedge denim I can wear with some boots and a black tee every day.

Nudie Slim Jim were good for a while until the crotch blew out. The jeans were SLIGHTLY too thin for me, and nudie quality is sub par.. also not selvedge.

So, close to slim jim, but a tiny tiny bit wider in the leg?? any ideas? ~$200

Agreed with the Slim Jims but Petite Standards are more like 510s than 511s.
Try New Cures
