Friend got a DUI

He's looking at a $10,000 fine, and/or a minimum of 3 years in jail

If he can't pay that 10 stacks, he's in jail bro

If he can pay the fine, he won't be able to drive unless he has a breathalyzer attached to his car so he has to give it a little blow before he starts it up (heyyy:tongue: )
Also, even if he does pay the fine, he will still be on probation. Anything as little as a speeding ticket will put him behind bars with Tyshaun knee deep in that

On a sidenote guys, if you're too drunk to drive and are from the Cali area, you can call Triple A to tow your car. It's better to do that than be an idiot like my friend.

Well we are from LA. He is near broke, so I guess this ain't gonna help him :smh:
Sorry, man :frown:

I had a friend who got arrested 2 blocks from his house. His case was really sticky and timing was bad. He was 20. His parent shelled out almost $25k or something crazy like that. He still didn't get off completely free. He couldn't drive at all for a year or so.

I got caught in something too back in 2004 when I was a freshman in college. It got dropped down to DUI. I was lucky since my attorney knew the DA. I was restricted to driving to and from school and work for 6 months. Cost nearly $10k in attorney fees and all that stuff. Insurance blew up to $8k a year for the next 3 years.

Best of luck to your friend.

Holy moly bruh that's a lot of guap lol
Could have bought the whole collection of Yeezy 1 and 2s with that money

I don't think you guys understand exactly what Lawyers do...you ever wonder how somoene like Justin Beiber can get an assault charge, dui and vandalism charge, all within like a month and still be walking round doing dumb ish? Because he had bread to get a top notch lawyer. There is so much Lawyers do people don't understand...***** honestly like Magic, they put the right words on paper in the right way and boom! You walking round, banging stripperes in no time.

What if you get pulled over and are 20 years old and blow a .4? In CA

I agree on dropping the money on a good lawyer that focuses on DUI's. My father was facing a DUI but got downgraded to a wreckless driving due his lawyer finding a mistake the trooper made (also didnt hurt im "on the job").

I got one in CA kind of recently. 3 years probation, on your record for 10 years and 3 months of DUI classes at the very least. Add the suspended license for almost half a year to that. I got 2 days community service as well. It's a ****** process but that's what you get if you **** around.

What if they catch you driving blunted?

But they cant find anything on you. What can they do? Aint considered DUI right?

I know this might not be a popular opinion but I do think penalties are a bit too stiff.

I respect the law as it is today but it's a bit excessive.

Laws used to be a lot more relaxed. No one took them seriously. If you were caught driving under influence several decades ago, the cops would book you a motel. Crashes and deaths keep occurring. Most notably, the CA and FL drivers who drove on the wrong side of the freeway.

I was disliking cops for the longest when it happened to me. Looking back now, it stopped me from being a knucklehead and trying to race other cars and becoming endangering the public.

My boy here in LA got one a few years back. He too was under 21. He paid over $6K, no community service, a bunch of aaa classes, lost his license for a year, 2 or 3 years of probation, 1 year with a breathalyzer, and I think that's it. Smh, it's not worth it, I suggest a lawyer. It's true that a lawyer won't make a dui go away, especially under 21, but you can get out of it with a "wet reckless". Look it up

Anyone here get there dui dropped down to a wreckless driving? Does that really help you after it all said and done?

First offense? Any other run ins with the law?

I'd say he's looking at a fine ($500 plus court fees), 2 years probation (plus suspended license), a year with a breathalyzer, community service (100 hrs), and AA classes (upwards of 100 hrs).

i've never met a person who went to court for a DWI and make out (lawyers fees or fines wise).. Is prison better?
NOOO. Not to me anyway.

Yea I have another friend that got himself a lawyer and had it reduced to a "wet wreck less" charge. Wet means it was alcohol related, so if he were to get another one, the wet wreck less would count as his first dui. something like that
