Giving Tip for Delivery?

You could play the fool all you want but in this country there are industries where tip is expected and others where it is not.

I don't tip the dude that delivers my weed but that's because it's not expected in that kind of service.
It's expected to give a tip in any establishment where you sit your *** down and have dinner. Simple as that, you don't just make your own rules because you want to be cheap about it.

so do you tip your neighborhood drug dealer, who usually drives to you with that work and has to spend gas money. and according to freakonomics makes less than minimum wage. i think these unwritten social constructs are bs especially when it comes to tipping when it all subjective on who we tip and who deserves a tip. Stop watching other peoples money.

at this and whoever repped this. The only cats up in here counting other peoples money are the idiots talmbout, "you don't like it, get another job."

Not to mention, that dude slangin has incentive to deliver, and bakes his costs into your COG's. No need for him/her to let you know where he/she lives.

Lol at "simple as get a better job"

This coming from the dude in the military. You'd think he'd be more empathetic to other peoples' plight...being that he claims to serve our country and all.

If you're job doesn't earn you enough to support you life style you have two options.

1. Down grade your lifestyle

2. Get a new job

If this is new information for y'all then I don't know what to tell you.

Lol at "other peoples plight". These are normal working people, not new age slaves. Get outta here with that BS.

I guess you have no problem if we got rid of all the perks that military people get.
No point in you getting all of this considering that it's a job that you willingly signed up for.

Surely you're not using any military perks...am I rite?

Read the first few pages, came in to say DYoung08 is a misinformed cheapo who hopefully was thoroughly corrected in the pages after I stopped reading :smh:

I'm sure its been said, but in many states, waitstaff minimum wage is as little as 2.xx an hour... independent of other jobs' minimum wage.

::Hopes Dyoung doesnt mind getting his pizza 2 hours late when ordering as a repeat customer:: :smokin

What are you even talking about now? That post makes no sense. :smh:

I'm currently doing the Michael Jordan laugh at people acting like they're eating the most lavish, exhilarating handcrafted cuisines 7 days a week while wearing shoes made of caviar and slacks laced with dolphin skin. Continue.

Is this your way of saying you don't tip, because I've yet to see any comment in this thread read the way you're suggesting many have. You cheap son. Deal with it.

I'd just expect a person from the military to be more empathetic about other peoples situation.

If things in this country are as simple as "just get another job" then god bless USA.

Never tip.

Gotta say though these threads get a bit tiring too. Cuz I've yet to see a good argument for why a person should tip these kinds of ppl. Better argument to tip your doctor.

I never said it in a condescending way. Y'all assumed that. It's just the reality of life. We could sugarcoat it but it doesn't change the bottom line. And again, I was one of the first to say that I DO TIP

Mmmm no .. You mean the way overpaid? How about medical care should be free?

So you do what is expected whether there's justification for it or not and other ppl don't.

That's what I got out of that post.

you are an idiot if you don't know what he taking about. Or you aren't in the military. VA loans .. Discounts .. Post 9¹11 GIBill etc etc etc ....

What does that have to do with what we're talking about? How is that relatable to serving tables? :smh: you stay blabbering nonsense bro.

Sup man...

Read my other posts in the past couple pages.

And you will see my first Few posts I was simply playing devils advocate.

I think page before this one I explain my grind.

Sorry if you "work for tips" btw.

Nonetheless, keep up your grind

I'd rather tip the person trying to maintain or better my health than a delivery boy. Truth of the matter is the doctor (medical staff, EMT, etc.) plays a part in so I can walk to get my food anyway. As far as I'm concerned, you get a job, you know wages. If you don't like how much you're paid for what you do you can quit and find a job that pays better or organize other disgruntled employees and try to form a union. Other than that there's no excuse to expect a tip.

That's what I got out of that post.

And you just a cheap *** that doesn't associate with social norms. That simple. At least you rep it.
You don't have to be cheap not to tip. Not acquiescing to social norms is what I'm really doing though.

As for being cheap aint nothing inherently wrong about that anyway. Either way there still yet to be a good reason for why a person should tip ppl who do these types of jobs.

Again it'd make more sense to tip a fireman or the police in your community that are actually protecting and serving. I'd sooner tip the enlisted fighting wars I don't even necessarily support/agree with but waitresses, bell hops, and delivery boys psssh Never that.

There's a difference in conclusions, not surprising if you don't see it.

I actually do tip, pretty well and within reason. Sorry I'm not standing on my roof yelling "HEYYYY LOOK AT ME YALL!!!' I CAN TIP GIRRRRRLFRRAAAAN!!!" like you've apparently been doing. I haven't taken the time to read all the comments since tipping threads tend to bring out the lames en masse (like you may be, not sure), but people are very well acting like if they're not eating "fine dining", then they're not eating.

I have a serious question for those who look down on the folks who don't tip people who make hardly any money...

Do you also happen to believe in evolution, we are a type of animal, and survival of the fittest? And yes, I'm being serious.

repped
all it comes down to... we're in america, our employers expect people to do what 90% of folks do(some better than others, but c'est la vie)
our government down to city and state levels have, in many cases built that expected behavior into their legislation, with wage regulation etc.

if you dont want to tip, make your own food and clean up after yourself.

OP was asking about how much they should tip. all this "i don't tip" stuff is way cheap, and ungrateful. I would certainly not admit it if i was a bad/non tipper... See how many second dates you go on acting that way in front of your date :smh:
