AJ XXX (30)

Are more people buying this to wear as a casual shoe or to hoop in?
Definitely hooping. The XX9 was such a great shoe on court, I'm super stoked to try these out. More support on the upper with better lockdown and an upgrade in aesthetics? Yes please

Hooping...First impression wasn't that great...My first thought was that the 29's were more comfortable. Insole with the rubber on it keeps making my sock bunch up when I first put them on. The 30's feel a little higher off the ground than the 29's...Can't wait to hoop in them tomorrow night...

The sole is completely same design with very minor visual adjustments on the surfaces. The main difference is the upper.
Its less plain than the xx9 but more asthetic? Not for me.

Well it's all preference I guess. I'll be able to really compare them side by side tomorrow

Just got mine! Anybody else notice the midsole and outsole are slightly different than the xx9? The outrigger is slightly thicker and comes up a little higher on the xxx. This was a welcomed surprise being that my only issue with all of my xx9's was the outrigger constantly tearing, I always thought it was made way too thin. Let's see if this actually solves the problem.

Didnt get the xx9 so I'm cool with these( 1st numeral j after 2009 for me).

I would be a little off put if I had the xx9. I probably wouldn't have got them if I had the xx9.

Hooped for 2 hours in them...Had to swap the insoles with my free run insoles because everytime I tried to put my shoe on, my doubled socks would bunch up...Pretty annoying...I assume that with one pair of socks it would be ok, but with two, the rubber on the insoles pull the sock back. The traction was outstanding right out of the box. After one game, I was able to trust them, and was able to go full speed without worrying about slipping or anything like that. I wear no show socks and the tongue rubbed and cut my ankle, something that never happened with the 29s.

Overall, this is a super solid basketball shoe. I absolutely loved the 29s, owning 3 pairs to ball in. I will most definitely own multiple pairs of the 30s as well. Can't wait to see more colorways in the next couple of months.

The super dome boots?...
Yes sir. I was waiting to get my posts up so I could update and warn people in the boot thread in general.
I walked exactly 125km In them and the leather tore out of the bottom lace loops. I think for the price they should handle more than 2 months walking Dogs. I'll post pics when I can

no review on the performance?

Well, I wore them straight from work, in work jeans and thermal socks, so no on foot shots lol. And the socks made them fit really snug in comparison to what a regular sock would. It's been cold out, but today I'll try regular socks and wear them to and from work.

With the thick socks, there was a huge pain in the back of my right heel, basically behind the XXX net logo..I had to adjust the shoe several times and it would keep coming back. If this occurs with normal socks, I'll never wear em again. Let's hope that's not the case.

And a little quick fun shot in the snow before I came in the house last night

Only problem I had with the xx9s as well. Repped.

I also had the pain in the back of my foot. Not sure if its those achilles pads or what.  Anyone else feeling that?

Ready for spring/summer with shorts

May end up being a good thing that I wasn't able to grab a pair early. My buddy in Toronto said they have the hook up at 306 Yonge and will be able to grab me a few pairs of kicks.

I'm waiting to see what's good with that below retail stuff too.
