So Is Tom Cruise Unanimous G.O.A.T.?

Not sure why Edward Norton is even being mentioned.

Dustin Hoffman's career easily washes Norton's.
Ya'll just naming actors now.

Dustin Hoffman?

Yikes @ the slander.

Norton, DeNiro, and Brando were all fantastic in this. Actually Brando's last film.

I guess we'll leave it at we have different taste. You can keep your by-the-numbers box office hits.

Hate to see what your taste in music is like if money is your only measuring tool.
Boy if you don't get....

When did I ever mention anything about sales or numbers?

I watch anything not romantic comedy

I watch movies for entertainment.

Not all my movies need mind blowing twist and deep thought provoking plots.

Tom is guaranteed entertainment!

FACTS

Samuel L. Jackson

no one else comes close

Again good actor, but he's no tom cruise. When was the last time Sam L has been in a lead role? Black snake moan? snakes on a plane? coach carter? you gotta go back 10 plus years for that. Prob has more straight to DVD movies in his career than he has leading roles. The point of the thread is that, Tom Cruise is the lead role in successful movies 9/10 AND HE'S STILL DOING IT.

The threads not about acting though. He's not the best actor. We all agree on that
I think, the vast majority of everyone everywhere would agree that Tom Cruise is not the best actor alive, AS IT PERTAINS TO ACTING.  You could make a case for American action star but that's about it.

The thread was started by randomly calling him the GOAT and saying he was better than Denzel.

It would be a lot more productive if OP would explain what he means by GOAT.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. Cruise never did it for me. I've literally liked NOTHING he's in.

Even though he's not master of versatility, he still has a mastery of picking the right roles that suites him and excels at it. The Scientology crap has me questioning him as a person though, I think he's crazy.

What gangster flick has Tom Cruise played in?

Edit-

Even Tom Hanks has Road to Perdition...

Not gonna waste my time reading thread but Denzel is the GOAT, Malcolm X is top 10 greatest films ever made.

Besides the Scientology, most people has positive things to say about him.

You're comparing Tom Cruise to SLJ. That's like comparing earth to the universe.

Careful not to disrespect.

But this thread had me go back and check out his career, and dude is almost unreal with his consistency.

There's no denying Tom Cruise is still a box office draw, and to be so in 2015 when you started in the early - mid 80s...

I just can't call him the GOAT.

Right now it's Leo, and then Denzel.

What gangster flick has Tom Cruise played in?

Collateral?

Beat this list.

Risky Business 1983
Top Gun 1986
Rain Man 1989
Born on the Fourth of July 1989
A Few Good Man 1992
The Firm 1993
Interview with the Vampire 1994
Mission Impossible 1996
Magnolia 1999
Mission Impossible II 2000
Vanilla Sky 2001
Minority Report 2002
Collateral 2004
Mission Impossible III 2006
Knight and Day 2010
Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol 2011
Jack Reacher 2012
Edge of Tomorrow 2014

I left of a lot of popular ones I personally didn't like like War of the Worlds as well.

Man was making classics before 99% of NT was born :x

I assume it could be due to Cultural differences but none of toms cruises movies are in my top 50. Leo is in my top list and i would say Tom Hanks is up there too, never was a Cruise fan. Leo is one of the few actors where he can drop a flick and i not need to know anything about it and can bet it will be good. Denzel is my GOAT Black lead actor and Leo is my GOAT white lead.

There's not one Tom Cruise movie in my blu-ray collection. I do have a couple on DVD.

The films listed I'm just not a fan of.

To just to throw on a Cruise movie and chill...nope.

I do that with DiCaprio, Denzel, and Depp. Even Nicholas Cage has movies I like better than Tom Cruise.

It's something about dude I never rocked with...

Brad Pitt is cool.

Brah Tom has been waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy more consistent than Denzel, Depp and Cage doe

And Tom got classics IMO:

A Few Good Men
Mission Impossible
Rain Man

And so many near classics. Dude's catalog is unmatched. I could spend an entire weekend watching quality Cruise films

Leo is a completely different beast, dude can carry an entire movie by himself. I will admit Tom isn't on that level.
