So Is Tom Cruise Unanimous G.O.A.T.?

Brad Pitt is mad underrated. Dude got hits.

Basterds
Fight Club
Fury
Snatch
Moneyball
Benjamin Button
Seven
Oceans

Goat movie STAR

Maybe not goat thespian but one could argue holding down blockbuster movies for 30 years is harder then handpicking
a script that plays to your acting wheelhouse .

He has classic romance, coming of age , comedies, dramas, thriller, action etc movies

These are all classic well recieved movies that might still get played on cable that did well with critics and audiences....spanning 30 years

The Outsiders
All the Right Moves
Risky Business
Top Gun
The Color of Money
Rain Man
Born on the Fourth of July
A Few Good Men
Mission: Impossible
Jerry Maguire
Eyes Wide Shut
Magnolia
Minority Report
Collateral
Tropic Thunder
Edge of Tomorrow

I can't believe cocktail hasn't been mentioned. Growing up I wanted to a) move to the carribean and tend bar or b) be a fighter pilot; because of cocktail and top gun.

Tom gets my props. Seems like his domestic numbers don't do well compared to international because America hates on his weird Scientology acts. Honestly if you didn't kill anybody IDGAF what you do outside of the movie studio.
So you cool with ppl that turn a blind eye to the torture of human beings that they know is going on?

Not sure why Edward Norton is even being mentioned.

Dustin Hoffman's career easily washes Norton's.
Norton is mentioned along with his peers.

You bring up Dustin Hoffman  :smh:

That's like saying "I don't know why ppl are bringing up that John Goodman is a good actor. Marlon Brando's career easily washes Goodman's."

Name a better top 6 than:

Top Gun
Edge of Tomorrow
Mission Impossible
Jerry Maquire
Minority Report
Days of Thunder

Those are all classic level films and all completely different.

Man you dudes can't be serious... yes Tom Cruise if definitely appreciated and I do like a lot of his movies, but put him up against top tier actors and he can't hold a candle to their work, versatility, and they're praised by their peers and won accolades to back up their works of art.

I must be in the minority on Tom Cruise,I can count on one hand how many of his flicks I've enjoyed...

Cruise is one of the greats (GOAT?...eh), but I pick Hanks on the strength of "Philadelphia" alone.

But compare their worst 5 movies......

Cruise

Rock of Ages
Mission Impossible 2?
Valkyrie
Knight and Day
Cocktail?

Hanks

Dragnet
Joe Vs. The Volcano
Volunteers
The Money Pit
The Da Vinci Code

My personal GOAT is probably Leo. Even though I don't even think his acting is that good, all of his movies are on point.

On a side note, I thought the whole Tom Cruise Oprah thing was overdone. I didn't think it was that weird. That whole thing murdered his public image way more than it should have. The Scientology stuff is weird though.
