I think I might need help. Vol: Addiction

the worst thing to do is chasing after you loses. I use to be you too OP but not 10k a month more like 30-40k a year, my co- worker lost 70k and got nice jacket to remember how much he lost that year lol. Now whenever i hit the casino ill bring enough which i call fun/weekend money, the money that i would spend going out the bars or going out for the week or month (leaving all cards at home) and would have a extra 20 for eating and drinking if i dont get a comp. If i lose it all then i wont go out the next week/rest of the month and wait until the next month to do it all over again. And it all comes down to self discipline a well.

Every time you want to return to the casino, just remind yourself how bad you suck at blackjack. Hope this helps.

That's what I hear but I'm not into gambling and I don't have good luck
yup. You're either into it or you aint. I personally don't touch drugs or drink at all, gambling my vice

Fam I'd introduce you to some dank and you'd never feel the need to gamble again.

Ruthless

Go get help fam pls.

Im a casino dealer & it never ends well. You might win sometimes, but know we make it back the longer you play.

Ask the casino to not let you play.

Do you just gamble on your phone or something with play money? You really think there's guarantees for winning at casinos? Do you not understand odds? Do you not understand why casinos are raking in crazy amounts of money?
I Gamble real Money All The Time at casinos. Do you?
All the time? No I got better **** to do with my money

Son really came here for help to stop gambling and judging from his recent post you dudes convinced him to just spend less, walk out earlier, etc,. All is advice in the right direction but my man was looking to quit.

My grandmother is addicted to gambling and one of my relatives lost everything due to no self control. Even lost her children smh. I wish you luck OP.

I got hooked to the casino after my first time in Vegas

I loved the craps table, even though I always lost. I just wanted to hold 2 objects in my hands and shake it

Just quit cold turkey.

Honestly, the NT fambz been more helpful than the damn gambling help contact number I called couple days ago. All they said was I understand, I can give you the number of a gambling rehab where you can schedule an appointment to come sit and listen. Quitting can't just happen at once. I gotta take small steps in the right direction, and limiting myself to $150/week is a right step towards better self control. It's much better than going 3x/week losing thousands. I appreciate everything NT.

What's up NT.

It started early last month of April. I got into some money issues, so I had to find a way to come up with money...fast. I was always good with card games, poker, blackjack (or so I thought). I decided to hit the casino, which is 50 min from me. I play blackjack. In the first week, I came up with $1.5K, In the second week, I made $1.8K more. So in two weeks, I got $3.3K, straight cash. I thought to myself...hey, this is easy money. Then it all went downhill from there. The next week I went back to the casino, lost $5K, all in one night...from midnight up until 10am. The day was already ******, had arguments with gf, did bad on exams, etc. Yet, I still took myself to the damn casino. My mind wasn't focused, and I was just betting dumb amounts. A horrible run happened when I lost six straight hands...wasted $2K within that 5 min, betting $200+/hand. Being dumb and naive, I went back five more times the past two weeks thinking I could get my money back...lost another $5K. That money is from selling a bunch of shoes from my collection, and from my savings. Going to the casino has really taken a toll on my health, school work, and relationship. Every other min I'm thinking about blackjack hands and getting back my money. My friends and family, even the dealers, tell me the best solution is to stop going to casinos, because chasing your losses will only result in losing more. Yet, I just can't do it. I plan on going back Sunday, but only with $150 and playing $10-$15/hand. Even though it's less amount, I am still addicted. It's not only the money I'm wasting, but also the time. I really don't know how to stop myself from gambling. Anyone in similar situation and has overcome it?

Sorry for long post.

You will not be able to control yourself. This is a crackheads equivalent to "one more hit".

Gambling isn't (thank god) physically addicting. It's something you can mentally overcome. It's something you can/should quit cold turkey.

Remove yourself from the environment.

Gambling is not meant to be a lifestyle.

The House always wins.

They are preying on people with addictions like this.

Don't let these people leech your life from you.

As a dealer myself I seen it all. Just like everyone said go the voluntary route and call 1-800-gamblers. I swear it's a disease, once you get hooked. I tell all my players when they are ahead to take it and run. Nobody gonna make that ect $ in an hour or whatever hours. Fast money is not always good.

I had a friend who blew his whole life savings at 34 in a casino last year over a span of 1 month.

Dude would come visit me smoke something and then just ball his eyes out. I would try and comfort him, and he would be like aite I'm good. And then Head right back there.

It was the most self damaging thing I ever saw in my life. He blew at least 30gs. It was depressing man.

all on blackjack too.

My advice man, leave that alone bro. It's simple man, there are no corporations out there for the better of man. It's profit.

For all the dealers out there, how's the work schedule. I know y'all work 8-10 hour shifts and all that. I'd be down for a 12-8 or something but not tryna work them crazy late/weekend shifts. Also dont want to work holidays. I really want to be a floor manager or pit boss, but you gotta work your way up and all that.

You just fall deeper and deeper into a hole of stupid with every post. Are you addicted to looking dumb?
Whatever..........

Man that boy assassin is hurt.

He could use some milk too.

Emotion leaking out his post like blood from the coronary artery. You know he's been there.

Ya'll are either wild immature or haven't seen this ruin families. To tell someone who's admitted to a gambling addiction "nah you just ain't win yet, keep going" has to be one of the dumbest things i've ever witnessed.

Thread is comedy.

OP - "I'm addicted"

NTers - "What you need to do is keep feeding your addiction"

OP - "Maybe you guys are right..."

Right. Then tries to justify NT has been nothing but help. You came in here looking to quit but now you're just gonna spend less, on top of that looking to work in an environment that's destroying you.

Fam, you're an addict. Get professional help.

Unsubscribing.

Clearly not
Damn my man was going at yall in this thread.

Wait, hold up hold up hold up....you have an addiction to gambling and you now want to get a job at a casino.

Losing 10K in 1 month is serious, just cut it out completely. I was sick and I lost $160

at Live a few days ago.

Just leave the casino alone man. You can tell people's maturity level in here encouraging you to keep going.

I'll just leave it at that. Of course an addict is gonna say" You know what I was overreacting, my addiction isn't that bad."

OP, you gotta be honest w/ yourself here.

You're trash @ cards/gambling, therefor, you shouldn't ever step foot in a casino again unless you're willing to put time in away from the tables to get to the point where you're able to beat the games over the long run.

Any dingus can win a few times but it takes a lot of work in order to be able to beat casinos in the long run.

All this, "oh, I'll just go once a week" nonsense won't do you any good because you won't be able to control yourself.

Also, self banning yourself won't work because it's not enforced, at all.

Either take it serious or stay away from the casino, it's that simple.
