How good are you at hoopin??? VOL.....MAD HANDLES

Man, it was a spider on the ceiling my girl pointed out and I was like I got it. Ceiling is 9 feet. I haven't jumped in years but c'mon 9 feet? I used to dunk 10ft like it was nothing so 9 I can still get.

I tried to just take 1 step and jump up and flatten him on the ceiling (I have like a 7'9 standing reach so you're talking like 15 inches to touch, maybe an extra 6 or so needed to mush him. My *** ain't even get the ceiling
sick.gif
Wanted to commit that on spot. 10 yrs ago his *** could have been on an 11+, literally at the top of the square and got that work (no exaggeration, I used to be able to get mid 11ft plus at 6ft tall, windmills, 360s, off glass, 1 hand 2 hands, 1 feet 2 feet, off dribble in traffic, sometimes dunk off a pure vert ((no dropstep)) all that).

I haven't hooped in 4 or 5 yrs too minus a very rare 30 minute session of 21 and light shooting/talking at lunch with coworkers but I'm not worried about that, I'm big and strong and long so I'll always be able to get where I want and finish either hand on some bullyball stuff if I can't blow past you but man I need to get back in the gym. From my prime athleticism, I am probably +75 lbs or so. Some is muscle, but most is not. What makes it worst is so many kats who I grew up playing with, who would even tell you they literally got better from me busting their *** daily, kats is in Germany, Canada, etc. playing some sort of pro and I'm sitting here at this boring desk job. Also I was good prior to the narcissistic #socmed era so I really have no proof I ever even touched a basketball before other than an old exhibition game I played with And 1 dudes and recorded but that was like 09 and even then I was starting to put on weight and get fat and declining fast.
Cliff Notes:

DN got called out by a spider

Spider was at the top of the key in triple threat

DN played him loose

Spider got DN to bite for the pump fake

Spider felt bad since DN's girl was in the room so he didn't even take the open lane, at first.....

Spider said YOLO and went for boom-shaka-laka

DN chased and tried to pin the ball on the glass

DN tripped over the coffee table and broke it then realized it was some lint and not a spider.

DN is now single for trying to play basketball with lint.

Used to have nothing but a nice midrange... then took a few months off, lifted a bunch, now I definitely have no shot either and only a little extra endurance... smhhhhh

Back in the day D1 prospect. I could literally fly out the gym and my jumper was wett. I was never a ball handler but I was always progressing. B4 I played varsity ball, in the 8th grade going to 9 I was already best in HS proclaimed by the coach himself. 9th grade I played another year of JV because I was 6'2 and was one of the only players Who could hang in the hole and get up over everybody like a of rodmon but much smaller.

9th going to 10th I went to a camp and dominated. This was b4 that youtube ball is Lice ******** you see now where everbody look like a future kobe on LeBron on highlight reels. I actually dominated a camp I had D1 calling to talk to my mom's and all after that.

10th grade I thought I was the golden child so I was ******* up in academics and said **** school pretty much so I got cut because altough my coach pleaded with me and pulled strings 38th my teachers I still didn't straighten up so I sat out varsity year 10th grade.

11th grade I had to sit out half the season. Because of my lack credits in 9th and 10th grade, so I came back mid season like black Jesus. Made it to 2nd round of the playoff.

12 grade. Didn't play didn't care now the rest is history...

Now I'm 27 I rarely ball. I'm washed up still very athletic but I'm outta shape. I give myself a 4/10 compared to how I use to be.

If I got back on the court I could probably still put in work.... Thats if I actually still cared about bball...

I need to lay off the ganja and alcohol.smh.

Yea, LA Fitness in Monroeville or Bridgeville is where most of the hoopin is done, especially durin the summer. In the fall, if you can get into Trees on Pitt's campus they run there. This aint a basketball town so it's hard finding runs.

How often do you think about, "What if it took basketball seriously?"
Honestly I've said I know I've threw away a lot and part of me could regret the hell out of it but as a whole I've grown to accept my mistake. But If I could go back in time.....man.... 1 could only imagine. My lady friend reminds me all the time. Man,we coulda been set right, I just answer them with an I know.smh

i'm not shooting u down but there's a big difference from being a d1 prospect to being able to provide for your family thru hooping

My handles are shoddy at best, but, my jumper is wet. I got unlimited range.

Handle = Clyde Drexler
Jumper = Ray Allen
i like that break down

that bein said, my game is probably just like jimmy butler

i always end up guardin the quickest dude on the court because im quick/fast for a "big" guy (6'2 in the real world might as well be 6'6)

if theres somebody who is my height or taller and is actually good, i end up guardin em, i hold ****** to a point maybe 2 in a game to 15

my mid range is a guarantee, i slash more than ill pull up, no good from behind the arc

my bounce is minimal, i can dunk but no two handed tomahawk type ****, i cant dunk if i take off from outside the restricted zone, it look like i can but i caint

edit: 6/10

I never took ball seriously. I just liked playing. I never even thought I was good, I just knew I was always good enough to run with the best. I'm not too much of a competitor for me it ain't win or lose its how you played the game. 1 reason I don't play much now is because you got grown ads men on the court stopping and crying about imaginary calls and arguing and crap like their life depended on it.smh. I can't eem...

For real. My dude says he was nice on JV in 9th grade, got cut 10th grade, balled out for half a season 11th grade, and retired. No shade but thats the story of a million cats. Only 27 too [emoji]128517[/emoji]

I've been playing european style basketball my whole life (movement without the ball, off ball screens, backdoor cuts, little to no ISO play) to moving to Toronto where ISO is the default...as a pass first PG, I find myself needing to adjust my game.

- I run off screens like Rip Hamilton/ Curry and can knock down those mid-ranges with ease (very limited three point range as we never counted them so I never took them).
- I am very comfortable in the paint and at 5'4" and drive like a young Tony Parker
- I am comfortable posting up mu man and If I do get double teamed, I always look for cutters
- I drive and kick out a lot since I draw in the defender often
- I do a lot of the dirty work with boxing out, getting offensive rebounds etc...

Now that I play ISO heavy ball, most of my strengths are ineffective...

- Running around the court is useless since the dude with the ball only looks to score
- Driving to the paint is not as effective as my teammates leave me on an island for me to cross my man up and drive only to expect other defenders to come in the way. This is a big adjustment as I don't drive in with the flow of the game, I am basically forcing the issue.
- When I get double teamed, there are no cutters

So my game is basically Curry (without the 3 point shot) meshed with Parker on a good day. But now I need to adjust my game to fit this iso heavy style of play.

I am butter with the midrange but not the 3 point. and I actually post up bigger and stronger dudes (up to 6 feet tall and occasionally taller), I got a bag full of tricks and my pump fake game is strong plus I finish with either hand. I usually try to get them off their feet then scoop it from under them with either hand. My turn around fade away game is decent with guys 6 and under and they usually look for it when I get the rock (which helps my pump fake game).

I've also recently added the one footed fade away which surprisingly felt very natural...even more than a two footed fadeway...it's a quicker release too.
