Anyone here not care about credit?

Someone tell me how to get good credit? I've never had a credit card or anything although I did buy a watch from Jarred's and made payments on it last I check my credit was in the 650 but I'm trying to get yo team 800 lol I'm 23 if that helps

Get you a credit card

Pay it off

Store cards too

A lot of you "don't care about credit" cats gon' learn when you grow up.

There are obviously more important things in life, but trust that your credit is a huge deal. I learned that later in life than I would've liked, but thankfully not too late to get back on track.

Take the advice of someone older than 95% of NT: take a proactive approach to maintaining your credit as soon as possible. There is no downside to doing so, other than having to be responsible with spending.

Brainwashing of america right here. Associating responsible spending with borrowing money. That's an oxymoron in itself. The "if you can't afford it, don't buy it" adage never failed me. Prosper OP :smokin

Responsible spending in regards to credit uses the exact same "if you can't afford it, don't buy it" mantra you just said you live by. But you've proven to be an idiot in a lot of other threads, so I don't expect you to grasp the concept.

Holler at us when you want to buy a home with that mantra, btw. Make a thread about it--should be entertaining.

if you are responsible you can really bank with a credit card

I got roughly $1200 cash back with my American Express Blue Cash Preferred last year

How does cash back work? Don't you have to spend a certain amount in order to get that cash back?

Ok now how does it work like do I make monthly payments on it? So if I buy something that's $200 with it do I have to pay $200 at the end of the month or is it a certain amount of monthly payments

There will be a minimum payment due every month. Or like others have said, you can just pay off the balance.

credit was fugggggggg for a min.

just recently got on track. now im just living scared hahaha.

but i still dont care about it or for it. buy it if you want it. only use credit for things like gas, groceries, and pay it back in one lump sum.

just use credit to build credit. nothing more nothing less.

Yeah, you'll probably have a minimum payment of like $20 or something but definitely pay more than the minimum. Depending on your card, it's ok to have ~15% utilized at all times. It gives your credit cards something to report to the agencies.

Spend some time in this thread below. It'll do you good.
Appreciate all the help thanks gona go get me a card tomorrow
Don't rush it bruh.

Credit takes time.

I'm 30 and just gettin my credit up.

Unless you was put onto game take your time bruh, it's one big game.

Maxed my first credit card out when I had my daughter and couldn't find a job :smh: by the time I found the gig, it was tough trying to pay it off and still provide since my wife(girlfriend at the time) wasn't working.

Now my wife wants to buy a house and w/ student loans and an already roughed up credit score, gon be tough.

I always pay my cards off in full each month unless it's 0 interest for let's say 15 months. In that case, I just make sure it's paid off completely by the end of the 0 interest cycle.

I lived with a single mother working her *** off for 3 boys.

I don't blame her fof not teaching me everything but money is a lesson I wish I would of been taught.

Its way more then the bills you have in your pocket.

One lesson I'll pass down to my daughter.

my girl works at a car dealership (infiniti)

guy comes in and he makes 600k a year..........wants to get a car lease

his credit came back in the 500s............(wife handles the bills and didnt do the only job she ******* has to do)

he still gets the car.......but he has to pay the whole lease up front............

if you got money you can get WTF you wanna get 9/10

BUT, CREDIT IS IMPORTANT OP

(this is a true story btw)

 what kind of point are you trying to make? Dude makes 600k...

For all of y'all saying buy cars cash and what not, you realize that can lead to the headache of being audited. Anything over 10k cash gets reported to the IRS.

How does cash back work? Don't you have to spend a certain amount in order to get that cash back?

No amount needed

6% back grocery
3% gas and dept stores
1% everywhere

Each month your balance updates, you can apply the cash back anytime you want

AMEX also always you to see your credit score updated monthly

#team800 checking in :pimp:

My score is 831

Also I taught myself about money, started working when I was 13, I think making excuses of not being taught about money is a cop out, spending what you have isn't rocket science and if you are still spending recklessly in your 20's it's because you choose not to manage your cash flow

That seems like a better card than my Freedom. Can you redeem your points at Amazon? Do you get an Amazon bonus at all during Christmas or does that file into dept stores by any chance? For me, I shop a lot at Amazon so I often use my cash back there.

Hmm I rarely shop with Amazon so I'm not sure if that's a 6% reward or not but you can use the cash back for Amazon or to cop gift cards

I always just use it to go towards my balance though

Gonna look into that card. You can rack up some nice cash back just with buying groceries, especially when you have a family  there have been times when I wanted to swipe my card for strangers at the store to get the points and have them reimburse me in cash

 what kind of point are you trying to make? Dude makes 600k...

POINT I was making is..........

Credit freaking matters to most ppl like you an I on this forum....................if you have a salary $500k+ who gives a ****.

Effed up my credit a little when I was 21. Four years later it hasn't hurt me, but my goal by the end of the year is to have it fixed. Definitely aiming for a new whip next year.

It matters when your interest rate is through the roof.

Just because you're making 500k+, doesn't mean you're responsible with your finances. And it could come back to bit you in the ***.

i dont think he gets the fact that less than .5% of the people in the US make 600k a year...

pointing out the outlier isnt a point...its a donald trump like exception...like million dollar interest free loans..
