as suggested by Kobe try to get a nice retentions deal..."telus is offering me this and this for $XX.XX, how can you match this typething"
also check out http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=859401
they most likely have more info then RFD as HF is mainly about cellphones/plans etc
cheers

that offer is also in RedFlagDeals.com

As what teamvietnam said always call retention.. you can probably get a free phone also while signing up again..

Apollo XXIII: i saw that offer also being given to Fido and Rogers from RFD

so before your contract is up..there is no way to extend the contract for another couple of years?

seems like rogers' promotions vary throughout the year.. if i get caught on a soft deal im stuck for another 3 years

I want an iphone 3gs. Who has the best overall plan since all providers will be getting the new iphone?

Bell had this siick $50 phone/data plan. I'm interested in what's good out there too since I'm due for contract extension.

refer to CUSTOMER RELATIONS ie) *(star) 611
1) educate them on why you were sucha loyal long-term customer & how recent billing cycles have suprised you (make some bullish up or try to find extrabilling chargers or something out of the norm) that way you had a legitimate reason as to why you called in the first place (keep in mind you should bespeaking to them in a well-mannered and calm tone)
2) they should after feeling sympathy towards your situation; transfer you over to customer relations aka retentions (whom have access to the sales portalwhich basically means they have the authority to alter your acct to their liking.
3) stress to them again how you did not want to call in but they left you w/ no chance blah blah blah... and usually 80% of the time they give you a break andreduce whatever price inflations you seem to have experienced or resolve whatever the problem it is you were expressing to them - again, at this point Irecommend mentioning that since you're coming off a 3yr contract you should be eligible for a hardware upgrade (you should be up for either the 8520 or9700 or any smartphone e71, X1, HTC - charging anywhere frm $50-$250 extra depending on the phone of course + activation fee(s) which will be billed to youautomatically on your next cycle

PS - this is not guaranteed I repeat you won't get through 100% of the time; everything plays a factor - the sales rep you get ahold of (their moodfluctuates depending on their day and the volume of calls, etc) & also time plays a key role and you should call during non-peak hrs (say the beginning ofthe week or even weekends) again it's either hit or miss! but best of luck to all NT'ers (we all know our phone service providers suck!) pm me if youneed any further pointers
