I don't know about Richard Pryor, so I wouldn't be able to speak on him...but everything I ever watched from Richard never hit as hard as Eddie's stuff for me. Plus Eddie's catalogue is crazy (stand-up, sketch, movies, and just look at how many people he put in the game (chris rock, martin lawrence, samuel l jackson, arsenio etc))

^^No doubt, other then Michael Jackson, you could make an argument for Eddie being the most popular person in the world during the 80's. He pretty much conquered every comedic medium possible and had a great run. I'd personally say Bill Murray is the funniest person of all time tho when looking how long he's been funny from the mid 70's to now.
