Boilermaker X is right though, your major does not entirely dictate your career path. I try to tell my friends, who did not study econ or finance, or businessthat their degree does not bar them from a good business career. When you work in finance you would be surprised at how many science, math and engineeringmajors there are. In other parts of business, especially advertising and marketing, there are quite few people from the social sciences and humanities.

English is probably the most versatile major. You can do just about anything with it and get into grad school or law school. Plenty of jobs require goodwriting skills or you can become a writer or journalist.
