I’ve baked the occasional thing but I’m thinking about doing more - I read recently that cooking has art to it but baking is basically chemistry - if you measure carefully and know your oven temp it should always be the same.
I mean I would say baking is an art as well. There’s definitely more to it than just mixing all the ingredient and throwing it in the oven at the right temp. There’s a lot of small things that can affect the final product. Whether your using a metal pan vs glass can affect baking times or temperature. Same with location. If you live in high altitude it’s basically a completely different recipe.

You gotta also make sure you don’t under or over mix anything. If you’re making something like scones or muffins, you gotta make sure you don’t over mix the batter or you’re gonna get a dry finished product Vs cakes which you usually mix for several minutes.

There’s a lot of little tricks you learn over time and once you get a good hang of it there’s also a lot of room for substitutions/creativity. It’s a nice little stress relieving activity minus the cleaning up afterwords lol.

A few of my recent baked goods.
everything made from scratch.
I bought a Bundt pan recently so I’ve been experimenting with that a lot lol.

Strong list. I hit El Moro, Pujol, and RosaNegra last time. All great. Pujol is a ***** to get reservations at though. I’d check early as possible. We lucked up with a reservation through the hotel. Can’t say enough good things about st Regis Polanco by the way.

Looking forward to the pics! Enjoy, man!
