Shelby 50th Anniversary Super Snake

Coming with a choice of manual or automatic transmission, it puts 670 horsepower of American muscle onto pavement via a 5-liter Ford V8 with forced induction. If that’s not enough for you, an optional supercharger package (Whipple or Kenne Bell) brings the total horsepower to 750. Supercharged, the Super Snake will do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and run the 1/4 mile in 10.9 seconds.

Shelby American developed this limited anniversary edition with help from Ford Performance, Michelin, Borla Exhaust, and Wilwood Disc Brakes. The exterior of the Super Snake has new rockers, spoilers, splitters, grilles, rear diffuser, tail panel, and fog lights. Commemorative detailing and badges can be found throughout while a signed plaque under the hood from the build team brings the celebration together.

The Shelby 50th Anniversary Super Snake Mustang starts at $69,995 USD and offers current 2017 Mustang GT owners an opportunity to convert for $36,795 USD. 500 models will be made available for purchase.

Wow! That is a brute: smaller lighter wheels and functional venting/scoops. They did a great job with this one.

I still think that the 2016 Hertz rental Shelby Edition is the perfect Mustang version.

Never knew about the Hertz versions. Just looked them up and :wow: :nthat:

That 2016 is sick.
You already know it. I wish that the Hertz configuration was for sale. I saw a guy that rented one in my area and it sounded like a scalded panther when it left the traffic light.

For a midcycle update, there's quite a lot that's new in the 2018 Ford Mustang. EcoBoost four-cylinder models are getting the Line Lock feature, a new styling package is coming -- and it's even getting an ice cream named after it. Now, Ford is coughing up details about the improvements to the V8-powered GT model.

With a 0-to-60 mph time that Ford says is less than 4 seconds, the 2018 model will be the quickest Mustang GT to date. Updates to the 5.0-liter V8 engine push horsepower from 435 to 460 and torque from 400 to 420 pound-feet.

Acceleration also benefits from an available Drag Strip mode that maintains peak power between new 10-speed automatic transmission's gear changes. Compared to the outgoing six-speed automatic, the new 10-speed unit also delivers quicker shift knows and low-speed tip-in response.

More impressive performance numbers also trickle down to the EcoBoost four-cylinder, which retains its 310 horsepower rating, but sees torque increase by 30 pound-feet to 350. In Drag Strip mode with the optional Performance Package and 10-speed auto gearbox, it's capable of hitting 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

The updated 2018 Ford Mustang will arrive in dealerships this fall.

2020 Ford Shelby GT500 Is The Fastest, Most Powerful Mustang Ever

Ever since Ford came out with the Shelby GT350 and the GT350R, fans of hardcore Mustangs knew that the real prize would be the all-new GT500 version, which is here to push the limits of what is street legal with a 5.2-liter V8 that happens to have a giant supercharger bolted to it.

Ford didn’t reveal however all the details of the new GT500, saying it produces “over 700hp”, making it capable of 0-60mph in mid-three seconds and a quarter mile score of under 11 seconds.

The supercharged 5.2-liter V8 uses the same block with the GT350 but unlike previous reports, it won’t be a flat-plane crank unit. The supercharger attached to it is simply massive, at 2.65 liters of capacity. That’s bigger than the ones found in the Hellcat and Camaro ZL1 and slightly smaller than the one in the Demon.
