Looks like a patch job on Tulos pants.  The equipment manager must have repaired his pants.  Common practice when they are able to fix them.
 
Are we talking about his left knee and the pants right?  Second picture?  Or what he is wearing under?

Thats what i was thinking but kinda thought MLB players got new pants when they needed them especially an all star like tulo.

It's probabaly just a fashion hat. One way to tell is by the sticker. 9.5 times out of 10 the authentic on field hat will have the size sticker on the bill with that long sticker over top that says authentic and Ne-Tech.
