This was a serious post, but okay.

Do you have any of this in text form? Savedd?ALSO, on the night that I broke up with her, I asked her if she wanted the shoes back. She said no.
She also told me before we broke up that she was going to go to her insurance and say that she got hit in the middle of the night and she was going to have her insurance cover it. She's saying her insurance doesn't cover hit and runs.
She also changed her mind due to the fact that her friends and everyone knows that im talking and hangin w/ a new girl.. mad jealous over it. She's trynna get me back.
So you got punked into driving her car when you didnt want to...even when you should've been driving her anyways. Then YOU made an error driving and hit a car. You dented HER car and made a pretty nice sized dent. And now you don't wanna help pay the damages because you don't wanna lose your shoes?Soooo this is gonna be a long story. First and foremost, thank you for opening this.
Before me and my ex girlfriend broke up (a couple of weeks ago), she told me to drive her car on a rainy day. I didn't ask to drive, she told me to. I was reversing in a parking lot and hit a car.. dented her bumper. No damage to the other car, so they decided to not go to the insurance, left us a phone number to contact her at and we were off. The car runs fine, no lights out, and the trunk still closes.
She gave me the Air Jordan DMP package as a present while we were together, and today she demanded it back so she could sell them in order to pay for the damages. She's saying that she got the damages quoted off to over $1,000. Like I said, there are no lights out from the bumper being dented in, the trunk still opens and closes fine, and the car runs fine also. I'm calling BS on her quote. That dent is literally the size of a basketball, but as far in as half a soccer ball.
Now, after an entire text argument, she's threatening to sue me for the money to fix her car (since I wouldn't give her the shoes).
I need you, NT lawyers, to let me know if she has the right to do this. If there is any ground to full on sue me. If it will cost more to sue me and go through the process rather than just paying off the car herself.
SHE told ME to drive her car. It's HER car. I have no name on anything of hers.
I offered to set aside money from every paycheck I get in order to pay for half of it. She replied with "No. It is not my fault. You're paying for all of it."
Any questions, I would be glad to answer.
She came to my house while I was at work and asked my mom for the shoes, but my mom said she would have to come back when I'm home. I texted her to go home and leave my family alone. Considering getting a restraining order if she keeps coming to my house.

Don't got the money homie. I can get the money in due time, but with my job and everything going on, it'll take me years to come up with $1,000. (Assuming that that is an actual quote, because that's a buncha bs for what it is.)
Do what you think is right. Anybody with a conscience would know that the right thing to do is to give the shoes back. The fact that you are asking people if you can wiggle your way out of a situation through loopholes in the law shows that you know you're in the wrong. Make your own bread and buy your own shoes.
