Yea

I know fighting in KZ during the World Expo is important to GGG, but unless he just walks through Jacobs, I don't think he fights again if he has a chance to land the Canelo fight sometime after May 6.

I honestly think the GGG fight wont happen till 2018. GBP and Canelo's camp wont entertain that fight till after 2017.
Kirkland going down only goes in they're favor. They'll prob take Cotto in September and take Billy Ho in December, hoping to milk/max out the fight in May of 2018.
Can't blame them either. Golden rule....he who has the gold, makes the rules.

Unless he gets battered in the JCC Jr fight, I'm not sure how GB can justify delaying the fight any further, and not have their fighter look like one of the biggest ducks in the history of the sport.

There are no more excuses and the fight is as profitable as it's going to get.

Also Billy *** has a mando against mini-Tyson that he has to make.  A fight he probably won't win, especially if he looks anything like his last outing.

I think it all comes down to how both of them look in their upcoming fights. The negotiations will either be smooth or drawn out.

Both Canelo and GGG could be in the most physical fight in their career so neither one of them can look past their opponent.

Middleweight contender Avtandil Khurtsidze, the mandatory to face titleholder Billy Joe Saunders, is expected to take step-aside money to allow Saunders to pursue “a major fight next,” a source told RingTV.com on Tuesday.

As a result, Khurtsidze would fight for an interim belt, the source said. “There’s a step-aside deal pending for Khurtsidze,” the source told RING. “He would be able to fight for an interim WBO title, allowing Billy Joe Saunders to fight a major fight next.”

The source declined to provide any more details but it’s no secret that Saunders and his promoter Frank Warren have expressed interest in fighting Japan’s Ryota Murata (12-0, 9 knockouts). Then there are the usual suspects, such as Saunders possibly waiting to face Canelo Alvarez after he meets Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on May 6 or even the winner of Gennady Golovkin’s middleweight championship with Danny Jacobs set for March 18 at Madison Square Garden.

Saunders has hinted he’s close to a deal for a big fight that would involve him traveling to his opponent’s home country, suggesting he may be talking about Golovkin in his native Kazakhstan, though at this point it’s just speculation. As for who Khurtsidze would face next, Murata is the WBO’s No. 2-rated middleweight while Tommy Langford is No. 3.

James Prince doesn't work exclusively with Roc Nation though. We probably all assumed he would go to RocNation because of Ward. Anyway this has to strike a nerve with Floyd Mayweather considering the history he has with Prince and Top Rank.

J Prince isn't his only manager Ward is too.

See you in UAE for my next fight. #TeamPacquiao
Considering the location Khan would have made a lot more sense as a opponent.

Shakur Stevenson described Floyd Mayweather Jr. as “all talk” and no action in his bid to sign him out of the Olympics in Rio this summer.

While Stevenson, a U.S. silver medalist, was interested in possibly retaining the services of Mayweather’s promotional firm, the 19-year-old from Newark, New Jersey claims when it was time to produce paperwork to back up what he was peddling, Mayweather got cold feet and didn’t follow through. Stevenson ended up signing with Bob Arum’s Top Rank instead on Thursday.

“Mayweather, to be honest, he basically hyped me up to think I was on his list and when the time came they didn’t really send no paperwork or nothing, so he was never really an option,” Stevenson told RingTV.com on Friday. “He was all talk. It was very disappointing because of the fact that I looked up to him and I felt he was one of the greatest boxers that ever lived. So it was really disappointing. But it is what it is and everything happens for a reason. I’m ready to turn the page.”

Good read Bobby.
Would loved to have been a fly on the wall to see that Camacho vs Pernell sparring session.

Why am I hyped over Eleider Alvarez vs Lucian Bute this Friday? Maybe because we haven't had a major boxing card for what feels like a month.

Hearn: Brook 'Desperate' to Fight Spence; 'Very Close' to Done! http://dlvr.it/NMP8bc  #boxing

Various sources: WBO cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk replaced trainer James Ali Bashir with Vasyl Lomachenko father - Anatoly.

Brook should get a tune up fight before fighting Spence. Not that I think he will actually beat Spence anyway but coming off a fight with GGG is no joke.

“I talked to (Star Boxing President and CEO Joe) DeGuardia,” Gallagher told me. “Al Haymon has Stevenson and is not ready to commit yet. So Joe talked to (Top Rank Promotions CEO) Bob Arum about doing a Sean Monaghan fight. That looks like what’s happening; don’t know the details. Do I like that fight? Yeah, it keeps Joe busy, gets him more experience, smarten up and be defensively smart. And let us get due credit to (trainer) Jerry Capobianco and his brother (and manager) Phil, who have done so much for Joe. They are thoughtful and considerate and nice and have done so much. Joe, I hope, is aware of those guys doing so much for him. Those are the real heroes! The time has come for people to know it isn’t just the fighter; it’s the people who helped get him there, took time away from their families!”
