Be that as it may, still: The 15 best movies made in the first half of the 90s > All the movies made since 2000 combined.
It's all subjective but it'd be interesting to hear what you think are the best 15 movies from 1990 - 1995.

Wire
Sopranos
Breaking Bad
Mad men
Arrested Development
Boardwalk Empire
Extras
Curb
Louie
Always Sunny
Friday Night Lights
Dexter
etc.
They didn't have television like this 20 years ago except for save the Simpsons

I agree with everything said here. People who are blaming lil wayne for the fall for music aren't looking for good music. The music on the radio isn't representative of the music that is out there. And the fact that pop rap music is a hot steaming pile of garbage doesn't speak for other genres.Originally Posted by Enchanted1

Nah but I would say the radio sucks. EVERYTHING is pop now and they cater to the little white girl audience. It only sucks cause my CD player in my car doesn't work, so I have to deal with it. Music in general is still good and the internet makes it easier find good music

That's because there really aren't genres anymore. Snoop has been making songs with Justin Timberlake for like a decade, the equivalent of N.W.A. making a song with the New Kids On The Block back around 90.

I still haven't gotten around to watch Deadwood yet. I still say the Wire is GOAT but that's another thread. Forget shows with all the nudity/violence/profanity and comedy is still 10 times better than the laugh track shows of the 90s. Arrested Development case and point was on FOX. Flight of the Conchords was HBO but rarely dropped the F bomb, no nudity either (even if it did it wouldn't make it funnier) The Office had a great run, and now Parks and Rec is picking up the slack. South Park didn't hit it's stride till the turn of the century, and they were cursing just as much in it's prime as in it's first few seasons while in the 90sOriginally Posted by Xtapolapacetl

How could you leave out Deadwood? The Sopranos and Deadwood were the best TV shows of the last decade.
And yeah, TV has been getting better. But only because they can show more on TV now than they could in the 90s and earlier. Back then they couldn't even have profanity, let alone nudity. And HBO brought both. Not to mention violence that is much more graphic.
If you compare TV shows fair and on equal terms, such as comedy shows, the 90s are still hands down better.

How are there really not genres anymore? That's why I highlighted that sentence. There are plenty of genres of music out there, possibly more genres than in the past.Originally Posted by RealRubirosa

The only reason these "little white girl" songs are the only things getting mainstream exposure is because "little white girls" are the only people paying for--also called [/big]SUPPORTING[/big]--the music artists that they like. Pay for music you like and the industry will balance out again.
OR you can go in your favorite artists posts asking for links to their album to be PM'd to you and continue to whine about the current state of the music industry. Up to you.
