for the rated X ones (i cant post on NT) PEEP MY FLICKR!! (link in sig)

So I am going to make a jump into my first DSLR and don't really wanna skimp too badly on something entry-level. I am currently looking at either the T2i or possibly a 60D. Any suggestions?

If you can spend a little more bread, get a Canon T1i. If you are on a serious strict budget, get a Canon XSi or even a Nikon D3000.

Are you on a budget as well and are you brand loyal to just Canon? If it was between the two cameras you mentioned, you might as well get the 60D since it is only a couple of hundred dollars more the the T2i. It has a better ISO. But the better camera for picture wise might be the Nikon D7000 (well, we've really yet to know). I guess it depends on what kind of lenses you want to invest into but it seems to be either the 60D or the D7000.

I am not loyal to either but from what I understand, Nikon still has to improve their HD videos...and the HD video on the Canon's is damn impressive. I'd be lying if i said the HD recording capability wasn't important to me.

Fully understand. I mean the 60D and Canon in general is always a great brand to invest into. They might not be winning the midrange level camera game in the long run but with the right lens, it can still take some good god damn pics. It's all preference in the long run.

Anyways....check out this vid shot with a 7D at 60 fps. Quite stunning if you are into that slo-mo stuff.

Don't know how to embed with Vimeo's new coding.

And full-frame heads, anyone hyped on this new Tokina lens?:

I shoot with a Nikon D90 with 15mm fisheye and 35mm lens. I do a lot of post processing to most of my photos though. I had a Canon XTi before that and I am going to sell my Nikon pretty soon and either get a Canon 7D or a Canon 5D Mark 2. I had my heart sold on the 7D and in getting the new Canon fisheye L lens but I am getting swayed to much to get a full frame. I go to New York in a week and will most likely decide it all after that cause I need a camera in hand for the trip.

can't remember if i posted some of these or not...

Also...can someone school me on lens filters? I want to get a polarized one but I honestly don't want something expensive since I am going to be ditching my gear. Are cheap filters at those tourist camera shop just as effective as any other ones? Thanks.

These are really creepy. I'd avoid those shots if they're going to be looking into the camera. Maybe they can be doing something together like cooking so the other person will have a purpose for being in the background. Not just lurking.
