Working a 9-5 sucks hOW DO PEOPLE DO THIS

Everything is all peaches and cream until you HAVE TO WORK. Responsibility is one hell of a thing children, mortgage, electricity, car payments etc. No work=no money=no home, how in the hell can people not want to work and support themselves/habits is beyond me. Nobody truly wants to work 40 hours a week for the next 30 years of their life but those are the sacrifices you must make to become a man, set a foundation for your children to live a better life then you did. Hell I work road construction for my local county, my job truly sucks. But I'm not planing to work the rest of my life in this Texas heat, I took the job because it was a guaranteed 40 hours, full health insurance, and a 2 to 1 retirement plan. The thing wrong with my generation is nobody wants to work hard are hustle to get ahead, most want that fast gratification given to them. Rather than starting from the ground up and taking what they want. Well I'll tell you this sometimes you gotta take that **** job to get ahead in life, don't expect anything in life to be given to you go out and earn it.

This man knows. Kids reallt don‘t know and the generation trully soft and spoiled. Convenience, technology and social implications help assist that. The amount of time kids spend on social media, forums, face book is absurd and a distraction to their own well being.

They will just learn the hard way, needing to take on a job they wouldve never imagine. oh welll...

grind it out.

9-5 sucks?

I work 9-8

leaving at 5 feels "early" to me.

Apologies if I missed it, but want to share your story??
havent really been in this thread in a while.. well about 2 years ago i was unemployed moving btwn boston and nyc taking up odd jobs to pay bills and feed my family. I was subleasing my apt to a friend while my girl and kids stayed with her mom... last yr we moved back to the city, wife has a city job and I enroll into a IT training course which helps you get A+ and N+ certified. I enrolled passed the test for admission and background. got denied, so I did like any good NTer would do and wrote a 2 page rebuttal on why i shouldve been accepted... recieved a reply a few hours later and got in the following session. started the class with little optimism and ended up getting good scores on all 3 exams. Graduated and got a job a week after i took the N+ test.. finished up that assignement and was looming for work for about 2-3 weeks before i got my job at TWC making good money in a profession I had no idea i would be doing 2 yrs ago.

I hate working a 9 to 5 but im not gonna be unemployed hating on people who make decent money because their not following their "dreams". i got dreams to but its all just a dream when them bills is due

9-5'ing isn't for me. Swiping in and out every day isn't desirable for me. Do you want to carry on your sir name by leaving the same struggle you went through to the next generation(s) of your family?

Why not be the person who changes the blood line forever. When you leave this earth, do you wanna' be remember as the guy who was cashier at Best Buy? Cmon NT'ers! Chased your dreams and don't stop!

About to enter the 9-5 life...will be working full time this summer mon to fri 9 to 5 so it'll be tough.

If i get the new job I want I may end up being fine because it'll be a better environment for me.

maybe 1 day when I have a family, but until then 1 thing I will never do is complain about working..even if they are crazy hours..Ive worked 12-15 hour shifts before...I would rather do that than resort to doing other things

My roommate works 30 hr shifts regularly. With no OT since we're salaried as residents.

My first year out of med school I made 39K pre tax for 80 hrs a week. Came out to a little bit over $10/hr :smh:

I work in an office but it's not the typical 9-5....

for one, it's a website, so we're "open" 24 hours a day....  I usually come in around 10am in time for meetings and head out after 6

we don't have a clock or "lunch breaks" .... we come and go as we please .... if I see a tweet about a shoe and I have no meetings, I'll get up and leave to go get it....

I have a television at my desk.... I watch Netflix on my mobile devices or PC..... I talk on the phone if I want while I work

there's also no dress code so.... the same **** I wear out with my friends is what I wear at work

however, I definitely feel people when they say they're tired of the same routine every day..... I enjoy my job, I actually love it.... but..... I do feel like I'm just going through the motions until the weekend comes

I just need more hobbies and a girlfriend or some **** ... iono.... something to add some god damn excitement during the week

Lol, just chill I'm sure you know that. I know a few doctors that are pulling 300-600k after the initial grind.

I posted this in the natural hair forum, but what do you guys think about natural hair style in a interview? I'm
going to get a line up today and actually comb out my hair which I haven't done in a few months. I'll have
a mini fro shaped up and clean. I hate to change my look for this job that pays less, but the commute is like
40 miles less.

That's not the norm though especially in popular locations.

I enjoy my field and won't be poor like this long term obviously. But with no savings and lots of debt I won't be jumping into a nice lifestyle right when I finish.

If people would just follow a career path in something they're interested in, nobody would have this problem. Stop accepting mediocrity and make something better of yourself.

I just turned 21 last month. Only taken two semesters of college. First semester I killed it, but wasn't interested in my major. Second semester with a new major I lost interest due to not seeing a future with my major so I dropped out. I desperately want to go back this semester. I have a few different interests I'd love to make a career out of, I'm just trying to figure out what would work best as far as personal enjoyment, job opportunities, location, etc. In the mean time, I've been working this 8-5, making well above minimum wage, doing easy but boring work. This definitely isn't the job for me, but it's taught me a few things. The owner of the company started in a mail room 25 years ago and now he has a giant house, multiple luxury cars, takes off when he wants. Dude has it made in his 40s. Even though he's a bit of a jackwagon, I admire the hustle. Also gives me a real life reminder that you really can do it.

Whatever I do, though, I'm without a doubt going to enjoy it and when I get there I'm grinding my *** off until I get to the top and then I'm staying there.

I'm very interested in my career but that doesn't change the fact that the path absolutely sucks.
