2024 NBA Draft Thread

Hunter plays significantly better when he's not settling for jump shots. He finishes strong in the paint and seems to be able to get to the basket with not that hard of a time. He can be better than a role player but if he stays with that hang outside mentality then I don't know. Nobody said too much about his defense on Culver but he did a pretty damn good job.

You guys just always overrate the young guys. This draft is weak af. If I’m drafting anything after 5 I’m trading the pick. The value of a pick is much higher than the players you're drafting this year.

Hunter is bullying guys that are smaller and weaker than him. Not the case in the NBA. Literally the only thing I like about him is his ability to play defense. Can probably guard 3-4. But I guess Hunter is the new hype now. Sorry I’m not drafting a 6th option with the 6th pick. Especially if I have to pay him what 7 mill a year? For a junior with no great skill set? I’m good.

addict4sneakers addict4sneakers Mitchell was a 2nd round pick. Thabeet was the 2nd overall pick. Huge difference. I’m talking strictly lottery picks.

@dacomeup you the man, but once again you're not pulling my receipts on my "hot takes" so i pulled them for you....

Whats the difference between reggie jackson and DSJ?

Outside of Luka, SGA from Kentucky is my 2nd favorite guard in this draft.

No idea why he's projected to go so late, pretty sure he'll shoot up draft boards after the tourney/combine, but he's got all the tools to be a very very good player.

Gotta take Fox at 5 if he's there, he might be the best PG of this draft

Not sold on Isaac. He just screams another guy with loads of potential that wont ever reach it. Like another Anthony Randolph or Austin Daye. Plus I read a bunch of how he shied away at FSU and never really took over. Solid role player? Sure. If he had that take over mentality, he'd be a top 3 pick.

I used to be completely off the Tatum train, but honestly, he might be the most NBA ready player out of anyone here outside of Fultz. Doubt he ever reaches that PG ceiling.

Hart gonna eventually end up being the starting PG.

Going with Fox or Simmons for early ROY predictions.

I dont see it with Jaylen. He reminds me alot of Marcus Smart. In terms of a very good role player, but shouldnt be one of your 1-3 options. Boston has a good track record of drafting solid role players.

When a player improves that much sophomore year, it's a good sign (Mitchell at Louisville). There's IQ, 3pt shooting, and defense here.

I agree about Wendell. Especially if he keeps improving, he seems like solid starter material. I dont see the Horford or Millsap comparisons though. He kinda reminds me of a more modern version of Kurt Thomas

Isaac seem likes a all potential type guy that might never really figure it out

Trae's already a better playmaker than IT. Everyone here saying his teammates were trash yet he somehow had 10+ assist nights. Much harder to stat pad at the college level.

What’s with the infatuation with KCP. Dude isn’t as good as people think he is.

No. Tatum is more Granger. MPJ is no where near as advanced offensively.

Love seeing SGA shoot up draft boards. That was my guy since day 1.
**** it, hope the Knicks draft him so we could have the best defensive:pimp: and slowest backcourt in the league

Luka is an elite shooter and passer...at 18. Not much more you need to be successful in this league. Sticking with my slower Ginobli comparison but I like the Mike Miller one too.

I love everything about WCJ and JJJ

The value of a pick is only as much as the value of the players available.

Teams aren’t going to trade future draft capital for picks outside the top group in this draft, so what’s value, really?

As it stands now, I think most of us would agree that Culver is far better creating offense with his dribble penetration, while 'Dre looks like the better three-point shooter. Although neither really had significant volume on the year from downtown.

after 5 is a lot of "Josh Hart" type guys IMO

Which are very, very valuable. I guess if the Sixers were still picking real high in the draft I’d feel differently  but I love it for those Josh Hart/Brogden level role players

Just finding this thread and checking in.

Can't help but hope my Hornets deal the pick at this point. I'm not sold on PJ Washington, Rui, or any of the other guys I see that are going to be in that range.

Deal the pick for what?

From now on I’m gonna compare every prospect between 6’7-6’9 with no star potential but may be a solid role player to the Morris Twins.

Marcus/Markieff idc. Still can’t tell the difference sometimes.
Markieff dont have as much offensive game as Marcus

too many unpolished players coming into the league...

just because youre 6'7 and can dribble doesnt mean you should be a pro..

they got 23 year olds who can dunk but cant go left... catch alley oops but cant post up.

in a league where people get paid milions of dollars on rookie deals most of them dont come out deserving those checks..

Nobody is trading you anything for your pick.

Garland and Kevin Porter could be around there and end up being solid guys. Or take a shot at Bol Bol and hope he turns into something.

I think the Hornets found something in bacon and Bridges.

Agree on Bacon and Bridges. Actually love Bacon's game.

And obviously we aren't getting anything for JUST the pick. I'm not unrealistic. Ideally we would package it with Monk and perhaps some other fillers or late picks for something even next year.

Bridges and Bacon are actually the only two untouchables under contract for next year as I type.
