2025 NFL Draft Thread

Deion was good enough to dictate his terms and even had baseball to fall back on. His son didn't have that and received bad advice from him. Fumbled the bag

And Deion also played CB.. if he wasn’t willing to learn the plays, they could simplify the shh and just have him mark a dude and mirror him

That’s not an option for shadeur, him being unprepared before even getting the job is a whole other legit issue

sanders aside, im dying at people thinking talent is all it takes to be QB in this league. and that talent is all that teams look for in a QB :lol

Talent definitely opens doors and will make teams more tolerant of everything else. Guys get drafted all the time strictly because of upside and raw talent.

But at the same time, talent alone can only get you so far. There’s plenty of talented players in professional sports who squandered away their talent. A lot of these guys got multiple chances strictly due to their talent as well.

At the end of the day while talent will open doors, there’s other intangibles which will keep those doors open. Are you coachable, are you a good teammate, are you willing to put the work in to improve your craft

Not saying that Sanders didn’t probably fumble his interviews. But the league has been much more tolerant for much worst. I want him to succeed so bad. Unfortunately, I don’t think he’ll be given a fair opportunity to do that in cleveland

But that’s the thing.. take Johnny manziel, dude showed up at the combine and worked out.. he participated in the process

Shadeur and whomever were advising him several several misunderstood what his standing was.. and then further fumbled things but not even really making himself an option for certain teams

Take the eagles, for example, they would have never been given the opportunity to ask him the simple question of if he would be willing to be a back and for how long

Eagles clearly have shown they want to save money with backups by having guys on rookie deals, the later the better.. but if shadeur is unwilling to be a backup for maybe 2-3 seasons, that wouldn’t work.. and he didn’t have an agent and/or college coach who could answer that/those simple questions

Two things can be true: the Giants’ front office and coaching staff weren’t necessarily wrong for passing on Shedeur Sanders (they were vindicated with his drop) and they’ll probably still be fired at the end of the season.

Their mistakes in previous offseasons — like extending Daniel Jones and letting Saquon Barkley walk (only for him to join a division rival, win a Super Bowl, and have a historic year) — have set them back. On top of that, watching Jayden Daniels get drafted by the Commanders and immediately widen the gap between the Giants and the rest of the NFC East only makes it worse.

Honestly, drafting Cam Ward might have been their only shot at buying another season. Ward feels like he has the potential to be in that Jayden Daniels/C.J. Stroud mold, while a guy like Jaxson Dart feels more like a Kenny Pickett/Will Levis type.

Those interviews are no different than any of us interviewing for jobs. Unless you’re some type unicorn applicant who has plenty of options, you gotta sell yourself in the interview and say whatever you gotta say to get hired.

Professional sports is ultimately a results driven business. But if the skill sets are similar and there isn’t a huge difference, I can see why front offices would prioritize the guy who says all the right things and comes off as an ideal team first guy over someone who may be slightly more talented but comes off the wrong way in interviews.

These dudes have been the best at what they do in high school and college so I can understand why some guys have an ego when they’ve been put on a pedestal for years. But even if you have a big ego, your inner circle should be advising you to say all the right things in these interviews. Once you get drafted and secure that better draft slot, say and do whatever you want if your talent lets you get away with it.

Sheduer and the Sanders family's AURA scares people and it brings out people's insecurities.

Certain players have the cache not have to do certain things pre-draft right or wrong that just the reality of it. You as an organization can get past it or you can draft the guy that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and be a lottery team the next year after year

You a hater if you justified his fall to the 4th round!! It's really that simple

Because some how Gatorade/NIL/Nike/NCAA/ESPN and the millions of fans who tuned in each week and the countless celebrities that came to see Sheduer/Travis Ball out every Saturday were wrong and he's not good enough as a first/2nd/3rd rounder!? FOH!!!!

Because if he balls out that just makes the NFL even bigger! Imagine Sheduer balling out on the Cowboys !? What!! that would be a ZOO they would be printing out money !!

The Morale of the story is you should want a player like Sheduer to succeed that just makes for more entertainment.

There's always a hater 🤓
