Calling in sick to work when you're not is a slippery slope. Do it once and there's no stopping you from doing it again. Don't let it become habit.That's all I have to say.

I've always just said I'm sick, and left it at that. The more you get into it, the less believable it is.

And then when you get to work you can make up whatever you want. But I never bring it up--always wait for the other person to ask. Coming into work andimmediately telling your sick story makes you look desperate for the coverup.

Trust me on this. I'm a seasoned professional in these matters.
